I can't believe I missed this: Roy Scheider died last week.
Since he was on the top five five actors EVER list, I guess that means that all the other actors just moved up a notch.
Although I would not suggest waiting around for someone to die as a way to improve your acting skills.

I agree... But do you think that "JAWS" 'overshadowed' just about everything else he acted in, before and after that 'blockbuster'?
I admit that whenever I remember Roy Scheider that's the movie I immediately think of... but when I remember Charlton Heston I think of a whole string of movies, ranging from The Greatest Show On Earth", "Ben Hur", "The Big Country", "55 Days At Peking"... and even "Planet Of The Apes". This one was in itself a fine movie though it's 'genre' was later 'despoiled' by a string of lesser follow ups (with the main role(s) being played by other actors).
But getting back to Roy Scheider, maybe you can list his other movies? I can't for the life of me recall, except for "JAWS2", any.

I wanted to marry Charlton when I was a teenager and I am still totally a fan. I said Roy was in the top five...
