Wow! it's really nice!

The most artistic thing I can do is to make comics!

Hi Andy,

Very interesting article. I just found the pics this morning and was blown away!

Sunday in the Park is one of my favorite paintings.

Hi Ruben,

I love your comic! By the way... my iPod Shuffle IS green... well as soon as I put the skin on it. It is also red, gold and blue.

I have seen this before, it is always nice to see again.

Hello Elly,

I LOVE these pictures. Today was the first time for me.

momable 13. August 2008, 01:54

Isn't it cool? In California, somewhere, they have an Art Fair where people pose as many paintings, in costume, scenery and all! They are all in a box that is framed just as the painting is. You would love it!

A lot of work is involved and all volunteers do it.

KayFour 13. August 2008, 10:47

I wonder if someone has posted pix of that event! Or at the very least, I would like to know when and where so I can go there!

momable 13. August 2008, 17:18

I remember it was from one of those art colony towns...

momable 13. August 2008, 17:21

Tried to search for it for you, no result yet...

Very creative.

Amazing!
I love the painting too and now the photo........

lokutus_prime 18. August 2008, 17:16

Brilliant! I love the first one for its setting and the way the camera seems to have captured everyone in a most natural stance, and also because it reminds me of the Serpentine Lake at Hyde Park in London.

I like the painted scene too. I wish its colors were more emphasised, but placed next to the photographic scene it shows a clear contrast and seems to be a "time past" representation of the scene caught by the camera lens.

When I first spotted this online, I spent several minutes comparing the two images. George Suerat is a personal favorite... I have a reproduction of that piece in my apartment, so the two images were particularly fascinating for me.

lokutus_prime 19. August 2008, 13:12

I admit I don't know George Suerat (how could this be? - for shame on me!). I must google his name and learn more.

KayFour 19. August 2008, 16:38

First of all, I spelled it wrong. It is Seurat... Georges Seurat. And there was a Broadway Play titled "Sunday in the Park with George," that was based on his life and centered around his painting the great masterpiece pictured here... A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.

lokutus_prime 19. August 2008, 18:38

 I'll read up on Georges Seurat. Thanks for introducing me to his work
