Jumping Monkeys and babysitting

5 little monkeys, jumping on the bed.
One fell off and bumped his head.
Momma called the doctor and the doctor said,
"No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"
When I was babysitting on Saturday, Miss M wanted me to join her on her pirate boat (her bed) because there were sharks on the floor. I declined the invitation and she started jumping on her bed. Replacing "monkey" in the song with her name, I sang her the song, which reduced her to total giggles and consequently stopped her jumping on the bed. With jelly legs and giggling the entire time, I finally got her pajamas on her. (She loved playing the game where she deliberately missed the leg opening in the pajamas with her foot, again causing her to giggle so much she started hiccuping. Why does intense giggling give little girls jelly legs?)
While this was going on, the New Guy, who is now 2 and half months old, waited in the living room and quickly discovered he was on the couch and totally alone in the room. He started wailing like his heart was broken and he would never be happy, again. He has an adorable little cry that makes people feel sorry for him AND, according to his Mom, he doesn't like being alone and I could have solved the problem by taking him into Miss M's bedroom with me while I got her ready for bed. DUH! Still, I had a marvelous time holding and allowing him to spit up on my clothes... more than once.
All that to say, now, I have the Monkey Song stuck in my head.
