On the phone with #3 Son

Me: Your new apartment looks great!
#3: Great? Really?
Me: Yeah! Us three girls got a lot done.
#3: What did you do?
Me: We got the living room sraightened out, most of the boxes are unpacked, and we bought some curtains and some other stuff for the place.
#3: Curtains? What kind of curtains?
Me: Curtains for that huge living room window.
#3: Not paisley, I hope.
Me: What have you got against paisley curtains?
#3: You didn't. Not really. Did you?
Me: Well, if you were at your apartment helping instead of cruising around the Caribbean, you wouldn't have to worry about it.
#3: Hey! I am keeping the country safe for all women and children.
Me: While on a Caribbean cruise. 4 months in the Caribbean, I might add.
#3: I have to go where the Coast Guard sends me. Oh, by the way I am on St. Thomas, today.
Me: Tough job you have there.
#3: Isn't it? Now, about these paisley curtains.
Me: Actually, they aren't paisley. They are all flowing and silky, like a Persian harem.
#3: Now that's more like it!
Me: Don't get too excited. I was kidding.
#3: What does Lady Di think of them?
Me: She likes them a lot. Didn't she tell you that?
#3: Yes, she did. I am glad she likes it. She will be spending more time there than I will, with my new Coast Guard schedule. It needs to be something she really likes.
Me: Maybe she will tell you about Saturday night when us three girls went out for dinner and Lady Di and #1 got loopy on beer and gave the waiter a really hard time. It was so cute.
#3: They bothered a waiter?
Me: All we needed was #2's wife, Clover. I can't wait for her to get to the Mainland. We four girls have GOT to go out again.
#3: What will us guys do while you four are out having a great time?
Me: Whatever it is that guys do when their ladies aren't around.
#3: Mostly it is hoping the girls get back really soon. Why are you laughing at me?
Me: Don't worry, my darling child, I won't keep Lady Di out too late.
#3: I hope you tell Hubby and #2 that, too.
Me: Have no fear. Besides, you are getting along quite nicely without Lady Di right now.
#3: That's because I'm on a ship with 75 guys. Why are you laughing, now?
Me: I have to hang up now so I can call Lady Di. I need to tell her that it takes 75 men to replace her when she is not arround.
#3: Geez, Mom, can't a guy have any secrets?
Me: Not around here.

Hungry wades in to a domestic fray

White Whicker? Perish the thought. They have a very lovely deep periwinkle suede overstuffed sofa and a matching chaise, which is so much more elegant than a Lazy Boy.
The curtains are bands of sheer panels in green, bronze and gold that look exquisite when the afternoon sun pours into the window. There are touches of red through out the apartment with a sisal area rug with a red border, pictures with white flowers on a red background, an toss pillows with every color imaginable.
It is all modern and brushed metal and dark cherry wood on the furniture.
All arranged to perfection!
