If you have spent any decent amount of time on the My Opera community browsing user profiles and their blogs you will have noticed there is a huge lack of socially acceptable behaviour stemming from these accounts - particularly the blogs.
Most people think Jingle Bell Rock is a cute little song to celebrate the rocking-ness of Christmas as epitomised by the jingling of bells on Santa's sleigh. Oh but it's not.
As everyone knows, a "jingle" is a catchy and annoying tune used for advertising; hence Jingle Bell Rock is quite clearly a warning that the bells on Santa's sleigh represent the approach of the season of gaudy commercialism and we should all dash our heads against rocks in anticipation of the pain it will inflict upon us. Also, "rock" almost rhymes with "kak" so that's got to be saying something right there.
The phenomenon that occurs when someone becomes a badass when addressing others on a message board. It is a common practice for the reticent, meek, and cowardly to make bold statements, on the internet, knowing there is no way to be held accountable.
In person or even over the telephone people would never dream of speaking to each other in manners as seen on the internet today. Yet, the total anonymity of the web allows for even the most cowardly to spew insults and emboldened threats to those who upset them in even the slightest manner.
The resulting flame wars that engulf all corners of cyberspace can only be laughed upon when put together. From news and sport sites to blogs to chatrooms to pop-culture to Youtube contains various fronts of obnoxiousness and bigotry. On SA sites it ALWAYS boils down to racism, religion and bad spelling - the worst offenders invariably conclude their rantings with the phrase “nuff said!”, the surest sign of one-eyed obnoxiousness imaginable.
Conversely, however, there are often shit-stirring trolls ( ) out there who think they're really smart and enjoy getting their superiority rocks off by upsetting simple-minded fools who presumably type with two fingers and struggle to tie their laces in the morning. It’s just too damn tempting to resist sometimes…
So the Springboks played the All Blacks (SA & NZ) on Saturday the 21st of August 2010 in front of 94 000 spectators. The welsh referee, Nigel Owens got in the way on a couple of occasions - this time he got battered.
