Can anybody else see what is wrong with using Facebook as the only way to invite people to parties? Does nobody realize that caring about somebody involves reaching them where THEY are most available, not just in the way that is easiest for you?

And does nobody realize that the inconvenience of running apps is just a way of keeping you logged in for a few extra hours so that you will look at their ads? Furthermore, does nobody realize that online communities are privately owned, and that changing them involves convincing the owners that they will lose money if they keep things the same? Ironically, asking for change is a sign that you don't want to leave, and thus won't stop looking at their ads. Why should the owners to change things if you want to stay anyways? Why should they stop bogging you down with pageviews when there is no way for you to pay for their services but to look at their ads?

What, did you think they created the site for you?
