November in Africa

Christmas is nearing, summer is in full swing and November is at the end and the holidays are here.
The crisis in Zimbabwe is still dragging on and people die of hunger and cholera – I wish Zimbabwe’s people the biggest present for Christmas and that is the removal of Mad Bob and his regime so that Zimbabwe’s people can have hope for next year and that the infrastructure can be restore and the farmers can return to their land to employ and produce the necessary food for a starving nation.
Zimbabwe was the food basket of Africa with one of the best education systems in the region.
What is wrong with Africa?
I am part of the white tribe of Africa and I’ve seen just like the seasons of nature, Africa is in a constant cycle of seasons:
Spring = Hope, prosperity, growth, new government and new beginnings
Summer = Things start to hot up to a new election, statements and political speeches to please the uninformed voters and promise them things to keep their support. Opposition parties are now the enemies of the ruling party and the scapegoat for all the things that go wrong in the past. The ghost of the colonial past is set loose again and is blame for the past.
Autumn = Things change and there is fear in the air. The democratic elected leaders want to cling to power. The people are being intimidated, opposition leaders disappear or are put in jail, the National police and the army are the rulings party private army now.
Winter = Voting was rick and the ruling part is elected again. The promises that were made was only promises. Policies that only benefit the elite of the ruling party start to fall like snow on the people. It is going to be a hard and cold winter for the hungry and poor.
Let us hope that Spring is around the corner
