From last years post;

Aaahhh!!! The day of love. The day when Rose prices triple, chocolates get costlier and every second Ad reminds you that love can only last as long as you gift your girlfriend a diamond. Its also the day when the Shiv Sena, the Bajrang Dal and all the local 'dateless' goons go out on the streets, burn Valentine's Day cards and beat up couples (even if they're married). The irony is that these are the same people who sit through an entire Blue film and then at the end of it they protest the obsenity in the movie.

What did I do on Feb 14th. I had to attend college. 2nd Semester is just like 1st semester. I'm still bored. This semester is less hectic than the first one. Its longer too, 5 months compared to 3 and a 1/2 months.



Replace 2nd semester with 4th semester and you get my mood this year. :frown: :cry:

I reckon this post would make so much more sense if I only knew what a 'semester' was.

Of course, this being the internet I could have simply put the word into the little 'dictionary' box in the WIP bar that pops up whenever the cursor nears the bottom of the screen and I'd know what it was by now, but that is too easy for me. I like to do things the hard way.

What's a semester?

I bet your reply is funnier than anything the dictionary could come up with.

Meanwhile comfort yourself with the thought that it's not V-Day, it just plain VD.

And nobody wants that.

A year in the engineering course is divided into 2 semesters, about 5 months each. So 4 years of Engg. has 8 semesters. Basically they've introduced such a system to make the otherwise dull course seem hectic. Also it allows the college to torture us with exams every one month or so and to continuously introduce very abstract subjects every semester.

Meanwhile comfort yourself with the thought that it's not V-Day, it just plain VD.

And nobody wants that.
