I'm Back

, , ,

Read the title in Arnold's accent. Sounds Cooler.

Anyway, I'm back to the online world - back to the world of spam, inane status messages and useless twitters.

The rail wheel factory project was hastily completed, at last. Whoopee! We had to fudge a lot of numbers, the design seems totally flawed and it can barely even increase production if implemented. That's what you get when you give a factory design project to a bunch of 3rd year mechanical students. The amazing part though, and the most shocking part, was that the project in-charge took 30 secs to peruse through our 60 page project (A month's work of slacking), scratched his chin a bit ('The government official in thought' look) and then declared that this was a very good project!

Almost immediately after the end of the project, the sixth semester started. This is the worst semester for mechanical students, ever (Deja Vu. I'm pretty sure I said the same about the last semester). It's a semester of subjects like; Finite Elemental Analysis, Mechanical Vibrations, Theory of Elasticity, Design of Machine Elements II, Heat Mass Transfer and Mechatronics (Yup, we're soo advanced that we have to make up words).

So, to deal with the hopelessness of this semester, a bunch of friends decided to go to Pondicherry and get drunk. It was a three day vacation. Pondicherry is a beautiful place, really clean, especially the French Quarter.

The promenade

I don't remember most of it. Time seemed to fly by, the place seemed unfocused and the ground unsteady. 'Beer - the root and solution to life's problems' - Homer J.

Life's a bitch and here's more proof: It took me a long time to get my voter's ID card. Then life steals it away. The dates for Election 2009 are announced and I can't vote (it's a pain to get the duplicate, and most likely, I won't get it on time). To quote the incumbent, inefficient, incoherent, unintelligent state government - 'It's a conspiracy by the opposition'. Those bastards, I won't have the pleasure of electing them out of office.

Fifth Semester

Fifth Semester!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not exciting. The exclamation marks is just surprise that I made it this far.

It's just like the fourth semester. None of the subjects look interesting. Turbo mechanics, Dynamics of Machine, Design of Machine Elements, Energy Engineering, Engineering Economics, Management and Entrepreneurship. Sounds scary right? I'm not pleased either.

But on the flip-side, the professor who teaches DME (That's what we in the field call Design of Machine Elements. Sounds technical and classy) makes a lot of inappropriate jokes, making the usually boring class fun and awkward at the same time.

Radio Indigo

Made an ass of myself on radio (live phone-in). The RJ asked a couple of question, but due to echo and heavy feedback, I heard only a couple of words in each question. So my answers were not at all in sync with the questions asked.

Very Paula Abdulesque.

Holidays.

, , ,

Yeaaaaaaaaaah. Hooooolidays!!!! Oh, wait. That post has already been written.

Writer's Block. I'd like to blame that, but actually I'm averse to ANY thinking during the holidays. Instead, I shall regale you all with my holiday escapades.

Movies Seen:

One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest (Pretty good. Great ending)
Dog Day Afternoon (A Classic. Al Pacino is brilliant. "Attica, Attica"!!!!)
Monster House (An average Animated film)
Next (Hopeless. Bad. Rubbish. Crap. Its a typical Nic Cage fare)
The Inside Man (Loved it. Spike Lee, Clive Owen, Denzel Washington)
Blades Of Glory (outrageously funny)
Anchorman (Silly. Rarely funny)

Music :

Thin Lizzy - The best of
Aerosmith - Pandora's Box
Bon Jovi - Crossroads
Steppenwolf - The collection
Doobie Brothers - Best of the Doobies 1 and 2

I'd recommend all of the above.

Books :

Children Of Men - P.D James (Good Premise like 1984, but loses track towards the end, unlike 1984)
100 Years of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez (An absolute Classic. A must read)
The Awakening - Kate Chopin (Archaic. Boring. Got it because it was there in the Everman's Library)
Misery - Stephen King (Good book. Glad there are no aliens, demonic possession, rabid dogs in this book, unlike the other King books)
Day of the Jackal - Frederick Forsyth (A classic. Very entertaining)

Currently reading 'Nostromo' - Joseph Conrad. A great Read.

And, I've been spending a lot of time at cracked.com . Hilarious.

The Bat Battle
Retarted Gas Saving Schemes

Exams over!!!

Yippie Kay yeaa!!!

Stress dissipating.....
The sparkle in my eye returning.....
drowsiness remains the same (When you're trying to cram 6 months of education in a week of half assed studying, you tend to lose out on a lot of sleep)

Words like Psychrometric processes, Backlash in Involumetry gear profiles, Hagen-Poisuelles derivations, Capstan and Turret Lathes, Adam Bashforth predictor and corrector method for fourth order differentials, etc, are slowly fading away into a dark abyss deep within the bowels of my mind. (Yes. I've been reading Stephen King lately. Misery)

Exams again

Sigh.

Exams starting.....
Stress accumulating.....
Apathy building.....
drowsiness increasing.....

Here we go again....:frown:

Look out for the Mafia

Two days ago, while playing cricket, I tripped over and hit my jaw against the hard tar. From then on my teeth have been paining.

The two nights after that, I've been dreaming about getting abducted by the 'dentists mafia'. Is that normal? or am I just an anti-dentite?
