Water and New Job.

Hurrah the water is back on bigsmile except only suitable for flushing toilet, washing clothes and sanitary uses. Can't use it for drinking or food preperation yet, but it's getting there. Had a very nice shower earlier was so refreshing and made me feel alive again. Still need to use the water bowsers which at least there's more of them now, also noticed they've been dropping off bottles near them and not just having them at the bigger depot spots. More helpful to people without cars.

Had a job interview today and got the phonecall this evening to say I got the job, yes they want to trial me for 12 weeks and if all goes well I go permanent. The hours suit me really well being in the afternoon and 20 hrs a week is great too, I'll probably save up for a holiday for this time next year to make it all the more worthwhile.

Third Day...

Stayed at my boyfriend's mum's place last night, they still have running water but the pressure is very slow. At least it was enough for me to be able to wash my hair this morning. I've now used up one five litre container but brought some more water back with me from what they were handing out at Sainsburys.

Managed to collect a bit of the rain water from today so that's gone into the bucket in the bathroom. Not sure yet what the weather will be like over the weekend but the tubs are staying on the balcony.

Heard that one of the chip shops near us are getting water from the bowser as soon as its filled but I'm not sure if people realise some of their staff live in the flat above the shop. Even if they are using the water there's alot of people that use that takeaway. I guess thats one of the other issues can businesses afford to close down for the entire time? Maybe some larger companies can cover their costs but not smaller independent run ones where they rely on each week's takings to cover overheads.

2nd Day without Running Water.

First time I've had to refil the bucket from the bathwater to flush the toilet with. I've put another bucket and some tubs on the balcony to catch rain water as its raining again today. I'll be going up to my boyfriend's later today, last night he still had water. Hopefully I'll be able to have a shower there.

Mum and dad are away this Friday for a friend's wedding, they've said the first thing they'll do when they get there is have a shower. One of mum's friend's she hadn't spoken to for a long time had said she could stay with her, but as mum has to work its not as helpful as it seems.

Downstairs on the path some man is being tended to by a paramedic, not sure what is wrong but I expect in the coming days they'll be lots of people seeking medical attention. Either through not drinking enough or fighting over water which I'm sure will happen sooner or later.

Got some water from B&Q earlier, mum drove me down there, they were limiting the water to one crate per car but we managed to get them to give us another crate as I waved my rent card to show I didn't live with my mum. Heard from my boyfriend that the water is starting to drop where he is now so probably won't get that shower I hoped for. We had a wash today with babywipes so not feeling too sweaty now.

Going to limit washing up to once a day so making sure I don't cook anything that takes up too much equipement. Then using the water again to flush the toilet with. Its stopped raining so not managed to collect much water in my tubs yet, had to weigh some down with a small stone as they blew over too easily.

No Running Water.

So as I live in Cheltenham, I now have no running water, but I put by 10 litres before it got back on Monday. I've also the bath filled up to flush the toilet with. There's no bread in most shops and when it is in its going off the shelves as fast as its put there. I've got a bread maker though so alright there for now. Milk is rationed too, sadly heard on the radio that some farmers are in such trouble they might have to put their herd down. sad Thankfully where I am the electricity didn't go off but there's still more rain to come.
The closest water point to me is in the middle of my nearby shopping area, about 2 mins walk, but I live up 3 stories of stairs, so will grow muscles if I need to get more water. hehe. Which isn't so bad as the gym is closed just as I was getting into a routine as well. Sainsbury's near my boyfriend's mum's place (4 miles away) is giving water away, his family is away on holiday atm which is a good thing as his sister has 4 kids, one is a 4 month old baby.
Talking of babies, everyone is buying out babywipes to wash with, I got some travel gel to wash clothes in by hand.
So we're hanging on in there, its only just begun really and the time they're telling us the water will take to go back on is going up so 7 days atm.

Two nights to go!!

Yay, so there's two nights to go, with just today and tomorrow left to things. But.. my stupid kitchen sink decided to get blocked up, with me trying to do a washing load and make sure my kitchen floor is clean and all the dishes are done.. Noooo!!

I had everything worked out as a schedule so I didn't forget to do anything or it got left to the last minute and now that happens.

!!!! and now my mouse has stopped working, they're all against me, nooo!!

Counting down the days...

Well Mark has arrived safetly in Sweden and phoned me not long after getting to his brother's. He didn't want me to cry as he was getting on the coach yesterday because it would of set him off, but seeing Mikey running by the side of the coach and then in tears as he ran back to me nearly set me off. Talked to Mark on the phone last night as he was sat in the airport, we've agreed that if it doesn't work out then he'll move in with me instead of going back to his mum's. She was in some mood the last couple of days because of something she said to me about she hoped I wouldn't keep her up all night crying, Mark didn't take to kindly to it and asked her to be less harsh but she took it badly and didn't speak to either of us yesterday. He told me how he now has to think of us being his family if he intends to live with us and marry me and that he looks after his family.

I've got a few things planned that I want to get done whilst he's away, just hope I manage to stick to them and don't put things off too much.

One month and counting...

Well its just four or five days till Mark heads off to Sweden, because his flight is at a silly time in the morning he's having to leave here on Saturday evening to get a Coach to Stansted Airport and then wait around at the Airport till his flight.

It's also 4 weeks till I fly out myself, I am just hoping his sister-in-law doesn't book me some stupid timed ticket like he and his mother got. I won't be happy if I have to stay in the airport overnight with my son. Nervous enough about travelling there myself without that kind of nightmare added into it.

I've also decided I'll try and get to Stansted by train instead of coach, yes coach is cheaper but its too much hassle when your travelling with a ten year old. I've never liked coaches and very often get travel sickness on them, my son gets travel sick very quickly on them. I'm planning to buy a family railcard so that'll save me a fair bit. I'd welcome three hours travelling at speed with quick stops over five hours of multiple stops, hanging around and sitting in cramped conditions any time. Just hope I will be able to get a train to coincide with the flights.
