Zen is adjusting to the apartment very well, only the first week or so were tough. She is a barker, and she barks like a big dog, it echoes through the entire complex. if the time that she is going to be home alone is more than your average work shift, we take her to my grandma's so she can play with Gus during the day, because it's more likely that my dad or grandparents would be home hours before Steve or I, so she can eat and be let out and not have to spend the whole day in the crate. Sometimes we leave her in the bedroom in the crate but don't lock the crate door, so she's not cooped up for too long. I heard somewhere that animals sleep 80% of the time their people are away, so at least she can be comfortable.
Zen's newest favorite past time is chasing the bunnies that inhabit our apartment complex. She goes totally hound dog on us. Her ears perk up and her tail goes out straight and she glues her nose to the ground and bolts, dragging Steve and I along by her retractable leash. I always feel like I'm strangling her when she does this, but she got so fat in the last year that her harness is laughable. Our ultimate goal is for her to fit into it again, because really she should only weigh about 15-25 pounds.
New pics of my Zen and some of my favorite people just up.
Till later!
