BRUNO TORFS, AUSTRALIAN ARTIST

, , , , , ,

I received an email recently that I have been trying to figure a way to put on my blog page. It had to be opened in Microsoft Office Powerpoint Viewer, and showed each scene enframed and full screen. Well, I could not figure a way to transfer that to here, so I went online and started searching.

Bruno Torfs had a studio and art gallery in Marysville, Australia. Part of the land he owned was a piece of the Australian Rain Forest. In February, Australia was ravaged by bushfires and the studio, their home and the outdoor sculpure garden were lost.

Not to be defeated, Bruno Torfs is rebuilding his gallery AND the sculpture garden. I went to his website and discovered this info. DVD can be ordered, named Deep Within of his work. All copies of original DVD were also lost in fire but they have made new ones. A visit to his website is worth your time.

Meanwhile, I found videos of his work on YouTube. Following are a couple of them.
I think this is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. See what you think.

Truly remarkable artwork! I love it. So sad that it was lost but I'm glad there are at least some pictures and videos of it. I think this would be one of most spiritual places I could ever visit.

Truely amazing.
I love the quote he has at the bottom of his website.

I am totally impressed. I signed up for a newletter they are going to send out periodically with updates on the rebuilding process. This place looks like a place where I could go and spend hours, just thinking and relaxing and enjoying the totally natural way his art fits into the niches where he places them.

Yes. Not a quitter, this guy. Handsome, too.I do not know how many people lost their lives, but a number of them. A great tragedy. Fires are so devastating because they take everything, as well as things like houses, furniture, etc. it takes memories--pictures, souvenirs, keepsakes of baby's first shoes, wedding rings and all those little things that make up memories and lives.

Been researching the fires online, and just discovered that arsonist/s started these fires. Said Prime Minister of Australia is calling this mass murder. Horrible.

I'm sorry, I thought you knew an arsonist started it.
Very horrible. sad
