lol Don't know which one I like the best cuz they're all so funny. But if I had to pick, it'd be the egg plant and the ipod.

Dacotah Friday, March 27, 2009 4:32:48 AM

lol
Pooltable and Knightmare.
bigsmile
Marcus posted something like this. We had to guess what they were. bigsmile

L2D2 Friday, March 27, 2009 6:15:44 AM

Hi Pam and Carol. Originally you were supposed to guess what each was, but I didnt know how to do that in a blog.Had trouble as it was because this was an email. To get it here, I had to save each picture to my pictures folder, then import it one at a time to here, and had to type captions in myself. Took forever, and still didnt get spacing exactly right. It was fun, though, so I did it.
Pam, I think the eggplant and i-pod are my favorites, also; am also partial to the P.S. (the toiletpaper for enemies)

Dacotah Friday, March 27, 2009 6:35:12 AM

Hi Linda smile
I can help you with the spacing if you would like. smile

L2D2 Friday, March 27, 2009 6:43:30 AM

Well, I would rather have the Whole Milk to the right of the picture, and the King of Pop closer to bottom of picture. If you know how to fix it, I will let you. Not too unhappy with final result but could have been better. And how do you get different size and color fonts in these things. Nothing I have tried has worked.irked

Dacotah Friday, March 27, 2009 7:43:34 AM

Do you use the Opera broswer?

L2D2 Friday, March 27, 2009 7:58:40 AM

Yes, I do.

L2D2 Friday, March 27, 2009 8:01:49 AM

Will have to do anything tomorrow because I am tired and going to bed. Eyes are ready to close. Goodnight all.

Dacotah Friday, March 27, 2009 8:04:19 AM

Goodnight Linda. ok. smile

Dacotah Saturday, March 28, 2009 5:12:55 AM

Hi Linda, please check you "inbox", I sent you a pm (personal message)

Suntana Saturday, March 28, 2009 2:23:23 PM

I wasn't able to see all of them because of my Ssssslow AOL Dial Up, Linda. After 18 minutes and 3.8Meg, they were still not all loaded. So, I had to abort the load. But, I got to see some funny stuff. yes

I did get to see the Lite Beer, Card Shark, Assaulted Peanut, Egg Plant, Whole Milk and King of Pop in their entirety. I can see the feet of a horse ... no doubt a Mare dressed as a Knight. bigsmile

L2D2 Saturday, March 28, 2009 2:39:12 PM

Really, Carlos, you actually do have AOL? I did away with dial-up a few months after I got my first pc about 4 years ago. I couldn't stand it. Have AT&T DSL. Are you in a place where you do not have high speed available? I pay $25 a month for mine and if I had to go back to dialup, I probably would do without pc! Maybe you could charge a month's worth of high speed cable for your designs! yes
You got most-half of the blog--horse with knights head in armor was, of course, a knight mare; glass of solid milk with holes in like swiss cheese, Whole Milk; can of Pepsi wearing a golden crown with arms and a sceptre, King of Pop; two women dancers wearing belly dancer costumes gyrating on top of a faucet and turn-off know, Tap Dancing; alligator in emt uniform pulling a gurney, Gator Aide; a coffee table with pool in the middle with people swimming, Pool Table; two plant stalks with seed pods at top of each, eye looking out of one, I-Pod. Then there was a P. S. "A wish for all the difficult people in your life" showed a roll of looks like metal food graters in sections for toilet paper. Ouch! See what you missed? lol

Suntana Saturday, March 28, 2009 3:13:47 PM

Let's just say it's not conducive right now.

Hey, did I read correctly, here or in Annette's Blog ... you did finally download and install Opera Browser? I remember you saying your Tech friend didn't want to install it for you because he didn't want to try New things.

L2D2 Saturday, March 28, 2009 7:21:52 PM

No, Carlos, I DID say that Calvin wouldn't install Opera on HIS pcs (he has 4 or 5) because he doesn't like to try new things;. I have been using Opera Browser since February. At first I had problems with it, so I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it and made it my default browser. Haven't had much in way of problems since. I also upgraded from my original 9.63 to 9.64 and am thinking about doing the 10 alpha.

Suntana Saturday, March 28, 2009 8:40:43 PM

Oh, Okay. I get it now. I'm using 9.64 myself also.
Linda, I don't know if you're familiar with what an "alpha" version of any software is. It means it is still VERY much in the experimental / development stage. It is guaranteed to have Bugs. It is the stage of development BEFORE the also experimental "Beta" stage. Alpha has more Bugs than even Beta software.

So, it wouldn't be recommended to have Opera 10 alpha as your only Opera. If you were curious about Opera 10 alpha, it would be recommended to install it while keeping your current Opera 9.64 intact. It wouldn't be advisable to have Opera 10 alpha as your only Opera. You could experience Crashes, Lockups and glitches at any time.

I tried Opera 10 alpha about a week or 2 after it came out. I didn't encounter disaster. It behaved, but nothing outstandingly revolutionary caught my eye about it. So, after a week, I uninstalled it and went back to my latest stable Opera. I'll now wait until at least the Beta version of Opera 10 is released. With my 8-year old quirky computer, I feel much more comfortable with at least a Beta version.

So, Linda, in a manner of speaking, really ... Opera 10 alpha would be more for computer Users who have no trepidation of encountering sudden weird situations and know how to fix 'em and get out of them when they encounter them. It's for people who don't mind and even love playing with the latest ... knowingly still in development Opera software. For those who want to help find and report Bugs.

glenno Saturday, March 28, 2009 11:01:12 PM

Fun, I used to crash test software for a living..yikes lol

L2D2 Saturday, March 28, 2009 11:02:26 PM

Yes, I knew what an alpha was, but have never tried any alpha before--just was feeling a little venturesome and thought it might be fun to try. But, I probably would get upset when something happened I couldn't fix, so I will wait. After last comment, I thought of something I HAD said when I was explaining above--you had said you would design a new blog for me when you got the time and I DID say that if it was complicated at all, I might have to get my friend to install the new design for me as he is a natural whiz when it comes to any machine; he discovered a way for us to put the old XP and 98 screensavers and themes on our Vista Home Premium computers. Is good at figuring out how things work.

Suntana Saturday, March 28, 2009 11:06:40 PM

My OLD computer with Glitch-happy Windows 98SE glitches up on its own. It doesn't need any help from any Alpha software. bigsmile

L2D2 Saturday, March 28, 2009 11:53:07 PM

I got my first computer about 4 years ago from customer who had one for sale. I was tired of being computer ignorant, so I bought the thing. It was an HP Pavilion with Windows 98SE, 600mhz processor and 10 gigs hard drive and I upgraded it from 64 to 256MB ram. I thought I was STYLIN'! That was my learn-on pc and it was a good one to learn on. I didn't know beans about a computer. Upgraded it to XP Home which is on there now. I still have it, and it still runs, but was so slow I couldn't deal with it anymore. After learning my way around, I bought a Compaq Presario with 3.6 Intel Celeron CPU, 160 gig harddrive and 2 gigs ram. It is in my bedroom. Have a Compaq Evo laptop with XP Pro and IE7pro, 30g harddrive, 2ghz CPU. The one I use mostly, this one, is Acer Aspire desktop, AMD 64 dualcore processor, 2 gigs ram (can go 4) 320 gig hard drive, card reader, neat stuff. I bought all off ebay. This one I bought used, but new model, with OS wiped. Had to buy recovery tapes from Acer to install operating system, which is Vista Home Premium. Have 19" widescreen LCD monitor. I love this Acer. It is fast. Of course, I bought all these when I was working AND drawing social security, so I had the opportunity. Couldn't do it now, though. 98SE did have a bunch of quirks didn't it? If you want to upgrade to XP, you could have my copy that I bought and put on the first pc just a few months before I quit using it. Could install because is not in use.

Suntana Sunday, March 29, 2009 1:42:15 AM

I'll get back to this probably on Sunday, Linda. In a bit, I'll have to see about writing my weekly Post, whatever it might be about ... of which I haven't informed myself. lol

L2D2 Sunday, March 29, 2009 1:44:03 AM

Better hurry up and tell yourself--I do not want to sit and look at a page of blank words.bigsmile

Dacotah Sunday, March 29, 2009 10:43:28 PM

Linda, are you going to try to do that soon?

L2D2 Sunday, March 29, 2009 10:53:47 PM

Do what Carol? Have forgotten by now what we were talking about.

Dacotah Sunday, March 29, 2009 10:54:50 PM

This post, to fix it the way you want it. smile

Suntana Sunday, March 29, 2009 11:01:11 PM

Wow, Linda! If I followed and counted correctly ... you have FOUR computers?! bigeyes You know, Linda, I believe I see the problem of why your 1st computer is very slow. After you upgraded it to Windows XP, 256 Meg RAM is NOT sufficient to be able to effectively and efficiently handle Windows XP. A nephew of mine experienced that when he upgraded to Windows XP with only 256 Meg RAM. He tried to have that setup and speed it up with DSL. Nope, didn't work. He had to add more RAM. I have these friends who have a Dell Dimension something or other. It is much newer than my computer. Its Processor and all the hardware put mine's to shame. So, technically, their computer should be leaving mine in the dust in the rearview mirror. Ahhh! But, they have Windows XP running with that same dreaded only 256 Meg RAM. Guess what? Online, with which they too have AOL Dial Up ... my computer is faster than theirs. That's because while I might have an inferior Processor & Hardware, my computer has the smaller Windows 98SE and MORE RAM (384 Meg) than their computer.

Dacotah Monday, March 30, 2009 5:35:10 AM

Linda party Looks great.
up

H82typ Monday, March 30, 2009 5:57:44 AM

lol I love puns! I love these! lol bigsmile

L2D2 Monday, March 30, 2009 6:03:48 AM

Carlos, makes sense, but I have long outgrown that 10g harddrive. That Pavilion has been gathering dust, along with the old 15inch monitor that came with it. Also the speakers, non-amplified. Thinking about having garage sale when it gets reliably pretty weather (if ever in Texas. If I get $50 I will be happy. Thinking about wiping harddrive so no personal info garnerable. So now I have software for 98 upgrade to XP which I can't use, and I also have the Windows XP Home CDs which I can't use. Microsoft won't let you downgrade and anything I have now is beyond XP HOme. So I have all kinds of software that is here and no use for it. Expensive software. What kind of hardware you using?

L2D2 Monday, March 30, 2009 6:15:36 AM

Thanks Carol. Hope you get some sleep tonight. Now I know better how to format my blogs, thanks to you. Still do not understand why font color won't work. irked

Dacotah Monday, March 30, 2009 6:17:44 AM

You are welcome. smile
That's because you didn't put your cursor inbetween the color code. smile
Just need to backspace that [ offf now. smile

L2D2 Monday, March 30, 2009 6:18:11 AM

Thank you H82Typ. Glad you enjoyed it. I love puns also. Come back anytime.sad

Dacotah Monday, March 30, 2009 6:19:20 AM

Linda call him Dennis, he's a great guy from NY and my friend. smile
Why the sad face?

Suntana Monday, March 30, 2009 2:55:31 PM

Yes, Linda ... wiping out your Hard Drive before you sell any computer is definitely recommendable. Of course, I assume you mean you WILL leave a fresh Windows install in there for whoever buys it. It'd be tougher to sell if the Hard Drive was totally formatted and no OS was left in there.

Yeah, unfortunately USED computers have got to be about the lowest value-retaining thing on the planet. So yes, if you get $50 for that 1st computer of yours, you can consider yourself lucky.

My current computer is the only one I've ever had. I bought it on Valentine's Day back in 2001. yikes It is a Gateway Professional V733 in a Mini Tower. It only has a 733 MHz Celeron. So, it wasn't even State of the Art way back when I bought it, much less now. I have a 17" Monitor. How old is it? It's sooo OLD that I have a Floppy Drive in it. lol It has both a CD ROM and a CD Burner, so it makes for easier, quicker CD copying. Believe it or not, even though I have a measely 20 Gig Hard Drive, I haven't even gotten remotely close to outgrowing that. I am only using a hair over 3 Gig. I have some Boston 635 Speakers that come with a little Sub Woofer.

I can actually plug in those same Speakers to my Casio Music Keyboard, which I have nearby. That way I can get much better Bass from my Casio with the Sub Woofer.

L2D2 Monday, March 30, 2009 8:33:55 PM

I have gotten so used to highspeed internet, I think I would do without rather than go back to dialup, would n't really know unless it happened. I think I want to get rid of my laptop, also. Nothing wrong with it, but I do not have the wireless card in it that will allow me to get on the internet. I have to use a cable plugged in to my DSL router/modem. Do not have money anymore to spend on new hardware, so laptop just rusting away. I try to use it about once a week to keep it from getting dry rot!jester
As well as my Acer speakers that came with my pc, I bought a set of Z4 Logitech speakers. Two speakers with woofer, tweeter and midrange, plus a large subwoofer. When I play my music, it sounds like surround sound. Those Z4s were a good investment. And I have a Yamaha PSR225-GM keyboard with midi capabilities, so I can hook it to my pc and record off internet, or play through pc.
Dennis, forgive the frowny, meant that to be a smile. Eyes acting up again I guess. Welcome. (Sorry Carol, meant no disrespect. If he is a friend of yours he is a friend of mine)

Dacotah Tuesday, March 31, 2009 4:06:08 AM

No need to be sorry.smile
Yes, Dennis is a friend of mine, aren't you Dennis? I hope he thinks so. whistle bigsmile

*hug* I'm honoured to be your friend, Carol! bigsmile

H82typ Tuesday, March 31, 2009 6:18:33 AM

Hey Linda, are you old enough to remember the phrase 'sight gag' That's what your visual puns remind me of! lol

L2D2 Tuesday, March 31, 2009 6:25:22 AM

Yes, Dennis, I am definitely old enough if you read my About page. Do you remember the sight gags going on in the background in the movie "Airplane". To me, that was funnier than what the main characters were saying and doing.bigsmile See the old lady in my avatar, that's me, complete with cat.jester

H82typ Tuesday, March 31, 2009 6:41:33 AM

o Just checked your page. Yeah, that's one of my favorite movies! I love comedies!
Do you remember a tv series called "Police Squad" with Leslie Neilsen lol
*sigh* back to work. later... bigsmile

Dacotah Tuesday, March 31, 2009 1:42:52 PM

*hug* awww Thank you Dennis. I'm honored to to have you as my friend. bigsmile
