L2D2's ALL NIGHT GARDEN PARTY

If you see someone without a smile give them one of yours.

CONGRATULATIONS, PAUL & STACEY!

, , , , ,

TODAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2009, Stacey (Grandmomster) and Paul (Dogcreek) become man and wife in a ceremony attended by family and friends in St. Maries, Idaho, that being Stacey's former home. I have followed their romance with interest and joy. Dogcreek was one of my very first friends on Opera. He and Stacey met online and I remember when Stacey first joined Paul at his home in Oregon.

I have to tell you that this romance has made me a believer in love actually happening between two people over long distances. And to believe, in my cynical soul, that two people can find each other if they are meant to be, regardless of the fact that they haven't met face to face.

Stacey and Paul, I am so happy for you two, and I wish you all the happiness that life can possibly hold. I think you two were meant to be and that your marriage will be a great success.

I wish so badly that I could have attended the wedding, but that just wasn't to be. But from my heart, I want nothing but the best for you two in your marriage and Paul, congratulations----you have a great wife----love her and cherish her and care for her. Stacey---Paul is the best----love him and cherish him and take care of him. Be each other's best friend as well as lovers.

A toast to Stacey and Paul! Be happy! wine  :hat:

:hat: Congratulations, Stacey & Paul! :headbang:

But, I'm confused. Did the the wedding already happen?
The Post date says Friday September 25th.
And the Post indicates that "TODAY" September 26th Stacey & Paul become man & wife. Is the Post referring to that later on Saturday the wedding will take place?

L2D2 26. September 2009, 05:16

Yes, I posted it just before midnight, Chuck, because east of us is already midnight, and I figured most people would read this tomorrow anyway. They are getting married Saturday evening, the 26th. I just put it up a little early because I am going to bed soon and it would have been late tomorrow before I posted it.

L2D2 26. September 2009, 05:17

You know me----Miss Impatience. Couldn't wait that long.

gdare 26. September 2009, 05:31

Congratulations!!! :hat::beer::cheers:

L2D2 26. September 2009, 06:18

Thanks all of you. I am sure Paul and Stacey will be happy to see all the well wishers here when they get home from their honeymoon.

Suntana 26. September 2009, 13:46

Okay, it makes sense, Peppermint. Little Miss Impatience combined with Little Miss Get Up at 2:00PM. You reminded me of Tower of Power's song - Little Miss Trouble. :yikes:

ellinidata 26. September 2009, 16:32

I just visited Satcey's and Pauls' Blogs,
they have no shout boxes to leave a G/wish but I did send then PVMessages!
I wonder if Opera has a section that we can add Opera-member-news, these are amazing news Linda, and if it wasn't for you many of us wouldn't know!
Thank you for sharing and the amazing pictures you added here
I hope we all have to share amazing news like these more often!

L2D2 26. September 2009, 17:05

Me, too, Angeliki. I hope to post another one for Dirk and Theresia in the coming year, and a couple other people here on Opera who I hope will also have a a happy ending.

ellinidata 26. September 2009, 17:11

edwardpiercy 26. September 2009, 20:52

L2D2 26. September 2009, 22:53

Well, I am so relieved that she and he have one language in common at least! That would be kind of tough if neither of them spoke the other's language!

Where does your future mate live?

women have always things in common! (

i.e. shoe shopping,
love for Antonio Banderas
,sweet chocolate.............

L2D2 26. September 2009, 23:26

hahaha, Angeliki. But I think it is always best if a man and his wife can actually speak to each other. Enough miscommunication in marriage without language barrier to complicate things!

sometimes is better not to understand the language!

speaking of which,
I tell my kids not to marry Chinese or Russian, two very hard languages to learn, at least if their in-laws curse I would like to know !

p: of course I am kidding... but behind a kidding there is always a dose of truth p:

L2D2 26. September 2009, 23:33

Is Greek and Chinese/Russian blood even compatible? p:

ellinidata 26. September 2009, 23:37

Greek and Russian very much so!
now raising kids in NYC no No color, blood, customs are seen as different.
Which is a great thing! Still Russian and Chinese are hard to learn languages

L2D2 26. September 2009, 23:40

Just kidding. They don't call NYC the melting pot of the US for nothing.

ellinidata 26. September 2009, 23:47

I still believe NYC is a place that many passionate racists live :frown:
especially to minorities as Latins and Asians :frown:

L2D2 26. September 2009, 23:48

There will always be racial prejudice, Angeliki, because people fear the unknown.

Dacotah 26. September 2009, 23:51

Congratulations

only education and awareness can change that! and it all starts at home ...I just hope the day will come that the name calling will not exist and the racial profiles will be a bad memory...
we had a similar conversation last night at my friends house,
she hosts a group of artists once a month and with the 50th Anniversary of Ark it was a perfect timing for that...
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=14698614
we all did agree that we have come a long way but not far enough yet...

edwardpiercy 26. September 2009, 23:55

There was this totally hot Norwegian blogger here on Opera a few years back. She only wrote in Norwegian.

ellinidata 26. September 2009, 23:57

I hate when this happens! Especially when she is "hot" p:

aren't you glad I do not post in Greek ?

L2D2 26. September 2009, 23:59

We have come a very long way, Angeliki, and these things take time. When I was growing up, it was unheard of for Afro Americans and Caucasians to have any common ground. I never personally knew a Black person before I was married and socialized with them while Lee was in the Army. You just had to have lived back then to realize that racial equality has come along by leaps and bounds. But this is not the place to discuss that. This is for Paul and Stacey and should be all about them.

I couldn't agree more !

edwardpiercy 27. September 2009, 00:03

Yes I am very glad!

edwardpiercy 27. September 2009, 00:06

PS Angeliki in my address book on my phone ypu are listed as Hot Greek Blogger Babe.

Seriously!

L2D2 27. September 2009, 03:15

 Edward, what are you saying?!!

Angeliki, that is a pretty image. Stacey loves pink. Her engagement ring is a pink sapphire

ellinidata 27. September 2009, 03:36

awwwwwwww I had no idea, but I am very happy the color is her favorite!

ellinidata 27. September 2009, 03:37

PS
Eddie prepares the ground for my visit to Spokane for the ice scatting ...

L2D2 27. September 2009, 04:46

Figure skating is the only sport I like to watch. Used to watch it faithfully on TV---the Olympic skating competitions and the nationals, etc. I got out of the habit of watching them the last couple years, though. I once knew all the professional skater's names, but not anymore.

edwardpiercy 27. September 2009, 05:07

Well Linda maybe you can catch up with it in February with the Olympics.

L2D2 27. September 2009, 05:53

I don't even know where they are this time, Edward.

There2ia 27. September 2009, 05:54

All the best wishes for the New Marriiage Couple, Stacey and Paul,

L2D2 27. September 2009, 05:57

Thank you Theresia. Of course, you and Dirk are my other great example that online romances can work. I know Stacey and Paul will appreciate all the well wishers here.

L2D2 27. September 2009, 22:12

Yes, I think your mom, or maybe you, told me you had met online, also. Like I said, I guess love will find a way!

Nerak 28. September 2009, 03:13

Oh, sorry. I didn't know you knew. :D

L2D2 28. September 2009, 05:08

Just enforces my belief that people do not have to meet before they fall in love.
