Thank you for taking your time to read about my situation, I am indeed appreciative. My name is Linda, and I was born, raised and continue to reside in Kansas. Both my parents are deceased, and I have no family, or significant other. This has been incredibly a rough road to journey.
My situation is medical related, with bills in excess of $40,000, currently under the care of three physicians. Here are the details. About one year ago an MRI was performed, and I was diagnosed with a bone tumor in my right tibia bone directly below the knee cap referred to as a “Ganglion” tumor, filling about a 2”x 3” hole within the bone. As well, Pathology reports confirmed “Osteomyelitis” (infection of the bone). I am fortunate this was benign, and not cancerous. We all need to count our blessings and be grateful for what we have, as I am, however we are not always happy where we are, yet never forget it could be worse! The Doctors were pushing me for surgery as to great risk of fracture or breakage of this tibia bone. I could not delay any longer, therefore about six weeks ago I had the tumor removed. The surgeon had to drill another hole (about the size of a hens egg) into the tibia bone to reach access to the tumor through the cortex. I was hospitalized for two nights, on a morphine drip, not fun here! I had delayed this procedure, as I am in outside sales which requires walking, driving and carrying materials. Following surgery, I am on crutches for 3 months, no weight bearing on my right leg for 8 weeks, therefore out of work and no driving for 12 weeks unfortunately, but not an option with my profession.
My medical bills are about $50,000. I had some small insurance coverage, however the grandest portion is outstanding, and I am not in a good position as other bills are not getting paid, including my house payment, again the timing was not good, but necessary to do for the risk factors involved, one wrong step and I would have broken the tibia bone. Not a good choice to have! Yet, no perfect time to do this. In 2005 I made two trips to Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale AZ, in August I had a needle biopsy (no one would perform that locally) only open biopsies. In addition to my recent surgery I currently owe Mayo Clinic $8000. They were the only ones to confirm this diagnosis.
I am sinking quickly here, and would appreciate anything anyone could do or donate to help me pay these bills, ANY amount you could spare would help, .50, 1.00 or more would be deeply appreciated. This is NOT a matter where I went out and created debt on my own free will shopping or purchasing stuff, this is VERY real, and was in regard to my physical well being with great risk, and no choice! I could barely walk with the bone pain. I have all documentation in regard to my health issue, and would be happy to forward such to anyone that requests it, or upon any donation I will send it to you, with a receipt for your kind contribution.
This all began about 5 years ago with arthroscopy knee surgery. From this, I was in and out of physical therapy about two years, later a second knee scope. I continued for years with great discomfort, repeated therapy, yet my knee effusion and swelling would not go down, this appears to have eaten into the bone, thus creating the large hole, tumor within it, and infection.
I just want to do the right thing, and pay my bills, as off work and not returning until August sometime is indeed impairing the payment of these bills for sure. If you have ANY questions please feel free to email me at: smithlink@cox.net As well, I have a paypal.com account you may make a donation through, using my above email, or email me requesting my address if you wish to mail a donation.
I thank you for taking the time and reading about my situation, should you find it in your heart to spare whatever you can, that would be so appreciated, as I need help critically! Thank you, and God Bless You! Best Regards, Linda
