Here's a list of software I use on my USB flash. All of the applications are free and leave no traces in windows registry.
For those who use more than one computer the advantages of portable software has long since become obvious. Recently there appeared a whole bunch of USB-friendly applications. Here's a short list of those of them I use every day.
Thunderbird Portable 2.0.0.14 with the Lightning extension which adds to it the functionality of Sunbird

7z Archiver
OpenOffice.org Portable
BonkEnc Portable
VirtualDub Portable
KompoZer PortableNexus file manager
