As most people who follow the music world or even occasionally watch a entertainment news show or has read a popular tabloid magazine in the last month knows rap superstar/gangster 50 cent challenged fellow rapper Kanye West to an album sell off.
Now I dont want to go into the details of the competition, but 50 put his neck on the line saying that he would retire if he was outsold by Mr. West. Ironically Kanye the politically driven rapper who purveys a sense of raw truth is poised to win the battle which will send 50 packing.
50's first album was sorry is one of the best rap albums ever tough , gangster, and real. Now moving to his second titled the masacre which i poise as being probably one of the top five rap albums ever just behind Jay z's the black album, would have demolished any other performers album without a doubt. Ranging from candyshop to god give me style made it almost perfect. The hype that surrounded 50 was also amazing then . However now Kanye is being seen as the rouge by many young people he has stood up for the entire black race against the us president and that has given him a cult following, however 50 has lost his due to his lack of the very important gangsta songs from his album and a new focus on love and a duet with Justin Timberlake has just been horrible for his image.
Now will 50 be back probably or probably not but the truth is he has been beaten by Kanye and beaten into retirement.
