About me

I am a social scientist specializing in otaku studies. I received my PhD in Science and Technology Studies from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2006. My doctoral research examined the ways in which anime otaku and related subcultures engage and appropriate science and technology. I am currently a Product Analyst for Opera Software in San Diego, CA.

My work

Since joining Opera, I have been involved in the company's community marketing and user research initiatives. This includes qualitative and quantitative research such as user interviews and surveys--providing information to help Opera ensure that its products are user-centered. I am also one of the principal authors behind Opera's monthly State of the Mobile Web report.
