Christen Krogh interviewed in Japan

, ,

On Monday, Saito blogged about Christen Krogh, Opera's President of Engineering who was in Japan awhile back and is featured in Nikkei's Digital Arena (in Japanese) with photos.

Being in San Diego, I haven't interacted with Christen much, but I do have one story to share. When I visited Opera HQ last September (with less than a month under my belt as an Opera employee), I decided one morning to head to the office earlier than usual. When I got there, I discovered that my temporary access card wouldn't let me in, so I was stuck with nowhere to go and nothing to do until a guy came by with his access card in hand.

I asked him if he could get into the office, and he said he could. Before letting me in, however, he asked me who I was, what department I work in, where my desk is, etc. After I answered his questions, he let me in and introduced himself as Christen Krogh. I immediately recognized the name and felt really silly, given that I've seen his photo on opera.com plenty of times, not to mention the fact that I just asked one of Opera's execs if he could get into the office. Oops

Haha, that could happen the best. Just remember to look at the suit. Nice suit, means PR dep, Economy dep, or your boss. :D
