It's unlikely that Opera came pre-installed on your computer. To get Opera, you have to hear about it, find it, download and install it. Since Opera isn't the second-most popular browser yet, chances are you will have heard of other alternative browsers as well. Nonetheless, you still went with Opera because you made a conscious decision that it was the best browser for you.
I would argue that those who know and use Opera tend to know more about different browsers than people who don't use Opera. I have a lot of respect for Opera users because I know that most of them have made an informed decision. On that note, I also have respect for non-Opera users who have actually looked into Opera and perhaps even tried out the latest version of Opera for awhile before deciding that another product was more suitable for them.
At Opera, we believe in and encourage real choice when it comes to technology, and that comes from an understanding that there is no such thing as a single product or approach that will work for everyone. That said, we are proud of what we're doing to improve the quality of Web browsing for millions of people. Most of all, we're grateful to all of you who have joined us in our quest to make the Open Web a reality. Thank you!
