Safari on Windows?

Anyone who follows the wacky world of browser news has surely heard about Apple's decision to bring Safari to Windows. As someone who is routinely asked by people what the differences are between browsers, I of course downloaded the Safari beta and tried it out. It was kind of rough around the edges to say the least, but it's their first beta on any entirely new platform, so I'm not here to criticize. Apple's benchmarks were stated to be done on the Macintosh and not Windows where Tarquin tested it. Opera is much slower on the Macintosh than it is on Windows or Linux while Safari is faster on the Mac than it is on Windows by quite a bit on average. I ran my own tests. I didn't get exactly the same results as Apple, but similar ones. In some cases Safari choked on the content and displayed the content the slowest. It fluctuated, but on average my results were very similar to Apple's findings.

Opera on the Macintosh is one of the slowest browsers available on that platform and has been since Opera started development again for the Macintosh back with 7. I have hopes that it will gather some energy and come out with fists flying with Kestrel and most certainly Peregrine.

Strange, I've always found Opera on my wife's Macbook to be really speedy and nice, but I never did an extensive comparison either.

better wait for the next beta, I guess.

I tried Safari on Windows and didn't like it.

It is true, Opera is really slow on the MaC, it seems to consume a lot of resources!

And regarding your poll, YES, i'd like to work for Opera... I want Espenao's job! (to read blogs for a living)
