Lawmune at Opera: Two Weeks In

Of course, my work routine and cozy San Diego living will be severely disrupted (in a good way) this Saturday as I fly out to Norway to visit and work with my colleagues at Opera HQ in Oslo. I won't be staying for very long, but it will definitely be nice to touch base with my Opera team members, some of whom I'll be meeting in person for the first time. (Plus, Eivind owes me a game of ping pong.
As a longtime Opera fan, I've always been eager to learn more about the company, and now that I'm an employee, that certainly hasn't changed. I suppose employees of any company benefit from knowing about who they work for, but it's especially important to me in my mission to facilitate communications between Opera Software and the users of its products.
I started using Opera because I found it to be an amazing web browser, but I didn't become an Opera fan until I researched and read about the company. The more I learned, the more I became committed to Opera and what it stands for.
Realistically, I know that not everyone is going to be a die-hard Opera fan. That said, there is still much we can do (as members of the Opera community) to help people discover what Opera is all about. If, as a result of our actions, people become more enthusiastic about the Opera browser, open standards, and technology choice in general, we will have done something worthwhile. I look forward to working with Opera users of all stripes to make this a reality.
