Sang ngày thứ bảy của hành trình vòng quanh Central Europe, hai vợ chồng tôi từ giả Warsaw đi Krakow, thủ đô củ cũa Ba Lan trước khi triều đình dời đô về Warsaw. Trên chuyến đi chúng tôi dừng chân tham quan hai nơi rất quan trọng trong lịch sử nước nầy: tu viện Jasna Gora với bức hình “The Black Madonna” (Đức Mẹ màu đen) và trại tập trung-Lò sát sanh giết mấy triệu người Do Thái: trại Auschwitz..
Trại tập trung-giết Do Thái tại Auschwitz rất đặc biệt, có nhiều chuyện phải nói, nhiều hình ảnh để đăng, nên xin hẹn các bạn bài sau.
Đến Warsaw tôi và người tình trăm năm đả lê bước chân Việt Nam đi khắp các hang cùng ngỏ hẻm, phố cổ phố mới, hoàng cung, cung điện Wilanow vua xây cho người vợ yêu thương gốc Pháp ở. Trước khi giả biệt Warsaw, xin đăng một vài hình Phố Mới.
Vì Warsaw bị hư hại 85% sau đệ nhị thế chiến nên phố mới rất dể xây, đường xá rộng rải. Tuy nhiên phố do Cộng Sản xây, nên không đẹp, xây theo lối nhà tiền chế, thiếu chất lượng và thẩm mỷ. Mười mấy năm nay, từ khi Ba Lan từ bỏ con đường Cộng Sản theo kinh tế thị trường, các building củ một số đả được đổi mới sửa chửa lại rất nhiều. Mặc dầu vậy, bộ mặt Warsaw cần một thời gian dài nữa mới đổi mới hoàn toàn được..
Jasna Gora
Tu viện Jasna Gora ở Czestochova gần Krakow là một tu viện lâu đời nhiều uy tín ở Ba Lan, nổi tiếng với hình Đức Mẹ mang tên The Black Madonna. Đức Mẹ màu đen nầy đả làm nhiều phép lạ, đặc biệt nhất đả giúp cứu tu viện khỏi sự phá hoại cũa quân xâm lăng Thụy Điển ở thế kỷ 17, sau đó được Vua Ba Lan long trọng công bố quyết tâm bảo vệ Mẹ chúa trời, và tuyên bố đất đai Ba Lan là cũa bà.
Đây là điểm hành hương cũa nhiều tín đồ công giáo khắp nơi máy trăm năm nay, và hiện nay mổi năm có vài triệu người đến hành hương. Đức Giáo Hoàng John Paul có lần đến thăm viếng tu viện nầy, và thánh lể do Ngài chủ quản đả lôi cuốn đám đông tín đồ từ khắp thế giới đến tham dự.
“The Jasna Góra Monastery (Polish: Jasna Góra, Hungarian: Fényes Hegy, Latin: Clarus Mons, English: Bright Mount) is a Pauline Fathers monastery in the City of Częstochowa, Poland.
The monastery has been a pilgrimage destination for hundreds of years, and it contains the most important icon of the Virgin Mary in this part of Europe. The icon, depicting the Mother of God with the Christ Child, is known as the Black Madonna of Częstochowa or Our Lady of Częstochowa, which is widely venerated and credited with many miracles.
Among these, it is credited with miraculously saving the Jasna Góra monastery during a siege that took place at the time of The Deluge, a 17th century Swedish invasion. Although this event was from lesser military importance, the event stimulated the Polish resistance. The Poles could not immediately change the course of the war but after an alliance with the Crimean Khanate they repulsed the Swedes. Shortly thereafter, in the cathedral of Lwów, on April 1, 1656, Jan Kazimierz, the King of Poland, solemnly pronounced his vow to consecrate the country to the protection of the Mother of God and proclaimed Her the Patron and Queen of the lands in his kingdom.”

“The Black Madonna of Częstochowa is a holy icon of the Virgin Mary, that is both Poland's holiest relic, and one of the country's national symbols.
The origins of the icon and the date of its composition is still a hotly contested topic between scholars. This difficulty in dating the icon stems from the fact that the original image was painted over after being badly damaged by Hussite raiders in 1430. Medieval restorers unfamiliar with the encaustic method found that the paints they applied to the damaged areas "simply sloughed off the image" according to the medieval chronicler Risinius, and their solution was to erase the original image and to repaint it on the original canvas, which was believed to be holy because of its legendary origins as a table top from the home of the Holy Family. The painting displays a traditional composition well-known in the icons of Eastern Orthodoxy. The Virgin Mary is shown as the "Hodegetria" ("One Who Shows the Way"). In it the Virgin directs attention away from herself, gesturing with her right hand toward Jesus as the source of salvation. In turn, the child extends his right hand toward the viewer in blessing while holding a book of gospels in his left hand. The icon shows the Madonna in fleur de lys robes..”
