Con đường mang tên International Drive

Có những con đường rất đặc biệt, con đường mang tên em, gợi lại trong chúng ta nhiều tình cảm nhớ nhung đặc biệt..

Ngày xưa ở Saigon chúng tôi thích dạo phố ở Bonard hay Nguyễn Huệ. Qua sống ở New York chúng tôi lại thích bát phố đường Broadway hay 5th Avenue. Và bây giờ mỗi mùa đông khi chúng tôi bay đến đây tìm nắng ấm trốn lạnh và bảo tuyết mùa đông New York, hưởng những ngày êm ã vui đời của mùa đông Orlando, ấm áp như mùa hè Đà Lạt hay Sapa, chúng tôi lại thích đi chơi lang thang International Drive. Không phải chỉ riêng tôi thích đâu, du khách thế giới đến đây cũng thích con đường này..

Nhà con tôi tại Orlando nằm cạnh International Drive, cách các công viên giải trí nổi tiếng của Orlando vài phút lái xe. Đường International Drive rất đẹp, nhiều quán ăn, khách sạn, nhiều trung tâm giải trí, rạp hát bóng, đặc biệt rất thơ mộng. Ở đây các bạn có thể tà tà đi dạo , ngắm du khách khắp thế giới đến đây vui hưởng cuộc đời, trai thanh nữ tú.. Đây là con đường du khách thường đi, con đường mang tên Em? Con đường nầy dài hơn 14 miles.

Xin chia sẻ một vài hình ảnh đi dạo quanh một vài nơi trên con đường này, với con cháu, và sau khi con cháu về đi làm đi học, một vài học trò cũ Võ Trường Toản Saigon đến thăm chúng tôi tại Orlando mùa đông mấy năm trước.

“International Drive (often abbreviated I-Drive) is Orlando, Florida's main tourist strip, located southwest of downtown. It is 14.5 miles long. Only the northern part is in Orlando; the rest is in unincorporated Orange County, and a recent extension (which doesn't connect to the rest yet), known as International Drive South, is partly in Osceola County. The portion of I-Drive from Sand Lake Road southward to SR 536, and the segment of Universal Boulevard that runs parallel, make up the Downtown Orange County district.

International Drive is home to many hotels, small tourist attractions, restaurants, and other commercial properties, in addition to the major attractions of SeaWorld, the Orange County Convention Center and Universal Orlando (across I-4 from I-Drive). In recent years it has become a particularly popular place for British tourists to visit or stay. The I-Ride trolley (a fancy-looking bus) runs along most of I-Drive, and is marketed toward tourists. Several Lynx public bus routes also serve I-Drive. It also offers helicopter rides.

The north end of I-Drive is a cul-de-sac at the Prime Outlets International (formerly Belz Factory Outlet Mall). The Festival Bay Mall at International Drive is located just south of the cul-de-sac.
International Drive roughly parallels I-4 to the southeast, running south and southwest towards Walt Disney World. It gets less crowded with businesses and traffic as it continues south. Originally the name went west along what is now World Center Drive and SR 536, but the name was dropped there when the southern extension was built.

One of several McDonald's to call itself the nation's largest is at the intersection with Sand Lake Road.”
