Feeling
In August last year I got my Luke, down from the aviary and you and me kitted her up. We both checked everything and it all looked fine. I was thrilled to bits. I even have a tv in the bedroom linked to a cctv in her seclusion aviary just so that I can keep a close eye on her - missed her so much
Got her out the next day, checked her kit AGAIN, manned her for a while and put her on her bow in the sun - she looked awesome - you know that bloom they have when they first come out - like a damson.
Went to prep some food etc went back 10 minutes later and all that was there was all her kit tied to the fist including her anklets!!!
Long story short - later after spending every single day, every single minute looking for her, seeing her every day, trying every possible way of getting her back, enlisting the help of every available friend, other falconer, a multitude of traps etc etc. She never return to me
She is gone
My heart was utterly broken and I thought long and hard about giving up. It remains with me every single day and I don't anticipate living long enough to every get over it - no matter what ripe old age I reach but...
As with all things related to animals, I have concluded that the only thing is to learn from it, remember it, remember her and how wonderful she was and all the things she taught me and to carry on.
Yes, when you have lost a bird, whether you get it back or not, it makes you nervous, but perhaps this isn't a bad thing as I think it makes you think and think again which can only be a good thing. It does get easier but it keeps you on your toes.
And for you: my beloved. Don't walk away. Cause I cannot fly to get you back like them.

- Still not flying to the fist to get food. I guess just It's too early for her
- Shall we do it again tomorrow?

- Food offered and taken eagerly.
- Took Rei our for a walk around the block. Maybe she's not ready for this, see bate off and panting a lot. Maybe because of the stress and the heat. When got back home, she remain cool and calm again. Eat about 6-7 tid bits.
- Night: Knew how to get back to the glove when fall. It's a good news

- Food offered in the morning but not taken. Tried to get her on the fist, she start the bating off and screaming a lot but much better because she didn't fall forward or backward like yesterday when I get her back to the fist.
- Hooded again and put back her to the perch.
- Unhooded at night and give her some tit bid. Eat all of them and no bate off
- Best day so far.
- Just for her

- I tried to give her food today but not eating. Good sign that she keep looking at it and licking her lips.
- Gave her a night walk around the block, she's much cooler than I expected. Many people and trucks passed around and look at her, that made me feel uneasy but she remain steady and ignore the presence. A few bate off for no reason. Still fall backward or forward and needed help to get back to the glove.
- Hopefully she could eat tomorrow

- Try to feed Rei with live querry, still no interested in food. Awfully calm when hooded but when unhooded she start to bate off.
- Begin to let her stay on the fist, pretty calm but still bate when somethings disturb her, noise or me trying to touch her. When I tried to get her back to the fist, she fall forward or backward a few times before she could stand firmly, look like she's too fat now. I realize that she have the same reaction to Roxie but double cooler and calmer.
- Gave her the second foot soak but the foot still dirty. I get nailed by her today a few times just because I caught off guard when watching for her.
- Mute look ok today. The only problem is she still not eating but I'm not worried about that. This is manning and she will have to play along
