death
They don't deserve to die at a very young age. They haven't experienced what life is.
Is there a proper time to die? So, death should only be applicable to oldies? Why then is God taking away lives of babies and kids? Did He made a mistake of putting them on earth or did He changed His plans? I think it is not for us people to say "They don't deserve to die, yet." It's God who commanded it, why battle against His decisions?
I think we live not because we have to experience life. We are here because our existence have purpose. Oh, yes, we are so familiar with this. But do we really care about our purpose? Once we go on with our lives, we are misguided by our belief that we are here to enjoy. Sometimes death of others is the only way to shaken us. Sometimes I think other' s purpose is to die just to help others know their own purpose. Isn't it great to know that God is using you for the sake of some people. Your death brings life to a dying soul. Well, you are not Christ who brought millions of souls to life. Yet, you can be like Him.Through your death you made a person realized that they are moving away from their purpose.
It's not the time nor the experience, it's fulfilling what you are intended to do on this world. It's like living for others to also live. It may be death, illness, accident, or just simple favors. What matter is you are seeking your purpose and where it leads you doesn't matter at all. Our lives are interrelated, right?
While we enjoy life, let's also give space for the fulfillment of why we are here.

Life, Learnings, Experience
Today, I'll show some entries in my journal. Maybe readers can help me analyze what had happened to my life starting from the year I've been part of the academe. March 25, 2009 (Not yet in the academe, no work)Auntie Zeny asked me to compose a valedictory speech for a prep student. I don't think it's easy because it will be addressed in front of so many people. So, I rummaged to our previous speeches. I can still remember some of the words especially my elementary graduation speech. I remember singing a part of it in front of the crown and say "tsk.. tsk.. tsk.." for the sound of the lizard part. I also requested the batch to participate in my speech. But when I will be asked to do it again, I will surely do it with confidence and more energetic.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
People had asked me that many times when I was small. But I haven't any clue on what I wanted to be. So, to just answer it, I'll say "I want to be an accountant". And I have lived being good with numbers.
Then came college entrance test. I still don't know what course to take. I took the advice of my Mom's friend that since I have a growing curiosity over electronic things, maybe I should take ECE. So, I checked the ECE course in UP as my first choice and Statistics as my second choice. Then came the result, I passed the ECE course but I was in the waiting list. I don't want to wait anymore for the new ECE students vacate their slots so I enrolled in the BS Statistics Program. And thank God I did that because ECE course in UP has a high mortality rate on which I am unaware at that time. Maybe by this time, I am still in my college years, taking a different course.
I graduated as a statistician and it took me a year to decide on what job to take. I applied for a programmer and a bank statistician. I think I got cold-feet during the last days of my stay in Manila and decided to return to the province and wait for new companies to reply to my job applications. Many companies had called but I thought much on my future if I am going to stay in the city. With the kind of lifestyle that awaits me there and the not-so-enough salary to sustain my cravings, I decided to stay in the province and applied for a job in the Department of Education and later to the Camarines Norte State College. I stayed for a month in the DepEd and transferred to CNSC without thinking much of the future. I just want to experience having a job and maybe just having a low-profile for a while (hehehe).
It never occurred to me that I will be a teacher someday. I can only do tutorial classes and I thought that was enough to try this new life. So, I plunged myself in the academe without any clue of what lies in there. Luckily, the faculty was welcoming. But I had a hard time with the students. I was not accustomed to average to not so genius students. Most of my tutorial classes were composed of the top-ranking students though there were also times that I handled the lowest-ranking students to get back on tracks in their class. I can say that I had adapted to it. I managed to lower my level of expectations but it took me a long time. It was an achievement and I renewed for another semester and this was followed by more semesters. I can say that I had enjoyed what I did. Teaching had become a medium to accomplish my goal which is, to be existent in other people's life.

Life
I asked God for a travel vacation, He gave me a tour abroad but I declined to pursue it; He then gave me short trips and I felt the warmth of the family I haven't been for so long.. It feels good to be reunited with the people you grew up with!
Thank God for showing me how passionate a family can be.

Want to
I guess my life is getting boring at some point. I was bum for three days and those idle times, I used to think, think and set plans.
During this year, I want to:
1. Engage in lawn tennis
2. Do running again even during weekends only and if possible some mornings before I go to work. If not, biking will be better.
3. Refresh the Nihonggo.
4. Update my sites, do some reviews and tutorials.
5. Play the guitar with precision
6. Refresh statistics subjects in preparation for studies.
7. Inquire about the Actuarial Society of the Philippines
Looks like I am back to my old self! Fingers crossed.
I love ye because ye make me love music even more!

Krrng! Krrng! Krrng!
Kids rush to their parents and beg for some coins. Outside, they wait for the vehicle to stop at their spot. The sound of bells disappear in the air. Manong ice cream or Mamang Sorbetero , as the vendor is called, served the craving little ones with a scoop of colorful flavored ice cream. This is the common scenario in the streets especially during summer. With the ringing of the bells, the kids know for sure what is approaching. They want to have that cold thing with a taste of mango, strawberry, melon, ube, langka, cheese, peanut, chocolate or just plain vanilla. Sometimes, not only the kids crowd Manong ice cream, even teens and adults want to have a taste of ice cream in a cone, in a sugarcone or in a cup. It usually sells at a price range of three to ten pesos depending on the size of the cone or cup to where it is placed. Most kids prefer the scoop to be in cone while the adults want it in cup. Kids didn't care if the ice cream is melting and flowing at the side of the cone, they want it that way so they can lick it back to the top. They don't mind the sweet thing running on their fingers, they can also lick their fingers once they are done with the cone; not minding that they had used their hands playing in the streets. It's the essence of childhood, enjoying with no worries of what you are doing. As for the teens and adults, they want it in different holder because eating it in a cone is messy, they don't want to look yucky in front of others. Wherever it is placed, enjoyment is found in its taste. The coldness it offers during the hot weather plus the fruit flavored taste it brings, one feels like they had themselves served with something from heaven.
Unconsciously, ice cream is being a status symbol, may it be dirty ice cream or the ice cream brought in supermarkets. The feeling it brings is not only for the taste buds but also for the psychological bearing of the person eating it. Having an ice cream makes one believe that he is affording something which is not a basic need thus considered as a luxury. It is rare for a common individual to have a daily consumption of that cold thing. Even the name it is called also determine the status of the person buying it. When the low-income ones are buying it, they simply call it as ice cream; but when the average persons are buying it, they call it dirty ice cream. For the middle class, the thing tagged as ice cream is the one bought in gallons from the supermarket. Whatever their status in life, it cannot be denied that they are patronizing Manong ice cream.

Experience
I was assigned to handle a class on Society and Culture with Family Planning and HIV, which is beyond my forte. Social sciences did not interest me much when I am in college so as far as possible I stayed away from it. But then, due to call of duty, I cannot avoid the subject.
The topic on family planning methods constitute the last part of the course, so as we ended the semester, we ended with an open discussion on sex and on contraceptions. The class was excited and everyone has their curious questions. I am no authority to this kind of topic. With the help of the book and some lessons learned from friends, I signaled them to start and promised to do my best to answer the questions in a most decent way. The only guy in the class unfortunately belongs to the other kind, so most of the guy stuff was not fully answered.
Why are condoms flavored? Why is it colored? Do they have sizes? Why are condom sticky?
What is PMS?
How is oral sex done? (urgh, tough one)
Why is it that women urinate during sex? (it's not urine guys)
Can we have sex during a menstrual period?
Anal sex is really weird, how can they go in there?
Is it really healthy to masturbate every morning? Why do guys have boner in the morning?
And the weird question popped up, "What if the condom was left inside the woman's, can it be removed?" (of course it can, you can use the finger to remove it, hahaha)
Good thing is, I was able to endure the two-hour discussion on this topic, and they were satisfied with the learnings they gained. But I can't say that I will want to handle this subject again.

Lifestyle, Culture
Another all-TV day today. I was watching the Don't Tell My Mother I Have Been to Afghanistan, my favorite. Thanks to its host, Diego Bunuel, who inspired me that it's better to be fluent in more than one language. I am learning Nihonggo again. Then, maybe be inspired to learn Spanish later.
As I was watching, I was shocked to know that women lead the police force in Afghanistan. It's just unusual to see policewomen who wear that baggy clothes, I think it's called burka, with a face veil. How can they run and chase criminals with all those clothes? As they were interviewed, they said that they are very important to the police force especially during killings and bombings with women as victims. The guys can't touch their corpses and can't even take pictures of them.
Another thing, women can't show their faces on TV. But as they were interviewed, they were not wearing their veils to hide their faces. I am also thinking if there are women doctors in that place; with all those killings and crimes, there should be.
I had also seen a golf course which is not green but more of dust and earth. I think it's just bringing golf in there for the experience of its people even though the place is not suitable.
