I just want to thank you for making this program available. I have installed it and it works even better that I had hoped. Considering that I am not very experienced in matters such as these the entire exercise was simple and effective.
The Flashblock utility or lack of it was my only complaint with Opera.
Thanks again
The Veg.

Installation:
Close Opera, unzip 'FlashBlocker.zip' to some place on your harddisk.
Copy FlashBlocker.css to your user styles folder like c:\...\Opera\Opera 9\profile\styles\user (looking in Help->About Opera)
Copy FlashBlocker.js to your userJS folder like c:\...\Opera\Opera 9\profile\userJS (more about installation UserJS)
Restart Opera und enjoy.

Hi,
Cannot get it to work.
Opera:
Versión: 9.21
Compilación: 8776
In my Opera6.ini
User JavaScript=1
Always Load User JavaScript=1
Allow script to receive right clicks=1
Error Console Filter=javascript=2
Files correctly placed in:
Ficheros JavaScript de usuario:
C:\Docu...ngs\Oscar\Datos de programa\Opera\Opera\profile\userjs
Directorio CSS de usuario:
C:\Docu...gs\Oscar\Datos de programa\Opera\Opera\profile\styles\user\
Have tried the 3 differnet options, cleared cache, etc; but always see flash animations.
Am I missing something.
TIA,Oscar.

I've found it works fine on 9.02.8585/XP Pro, but fails for some reason (eg, http://finance.google.com/finance?q=BRK.A ). Almost all other pages I've viewed work well.
Thanks for releasing this! I've been wanting something like this for years.

Yes, it alternative variant.
Copying of FlashBlocker.css in "User CSS directory" does not work for you?
Also, I can't play YouTube
Works for me (WinXP, Flash 9,0,47,0)
By Lex1, # 19. July 2007, 12:32:21
OK, this blocker is pretty good, but there's just 1 thing that stops me using it. I mainly use it to block all these ads on sites. But if I click on one of the hidden objects, a new window pops up (the browser opens the ad). Isn't there a way just to show the flash content without following the site it links to?
Thanks.
By anonymous user, # 28. July 2007, 07:48:32
So, I changed the last line of the FlashBlocker.js file from:
window.addEventListener('click' .....
to:
window.addEventListener('mouseover' ...
And now, flash object show whenever I put my mouse over the flash button;)
This is how I like it
I post this because there probably might be somebody else who wants the same behaviour

In 9.5 alpha I have {content:url("image.png");} work very good, You know. But in white-list.js I don't know how change:
('url("data:image/png;base64,')
By JaDo, # 10. September 2007, 09:37:45
JaDo
Use url("image.png") instead url("data:image/png;base64,
(open dev console, click on image and look in Styles->content)
By Lex1, # 10. September 2007, 19:19:18

Great its wori even under Ubuntu
Could You explain me one thing more. I have extracted zip file into hard drive and moved files into Opera`s subfolder. But in extracted folder I have "FlashBlocker-white-list.js" I do not thing that that moved files have remembered directory of extractedo folder, isn`t it? So how Opera knows or use that white list? Shoul I fill something somewhere?
Of course all works good but that white list could be useful
thx
Przemek

It's UserJS. Copy FlashBlocker-white-list.js to yours UserJS folder (also as FlashBlocker.js). Add the addresses of necessary sites, in beginning of file («// @include http://example.com/*»).

Can't get it to work. I have followed the instructions, but don't find the view-mode for flashblocker. System: Opera 9.24 in Windows Vista.
By anonymous user, # 4. November 2007, 10:26:55
There seems to some problem with flashblocker and google analytics. Blocked flash charts are unclickable so you can't manually enable them. Also adding http://www.google.com/* (or https) to whitelist .js file doesn't seem to work. Maybe because google is placing those flash charts using javascript, not direct object/embed tags.
Any suggested solution for this, except disabling flashblocker completely from view->styles menu?
By anonymous user, # 21. November 2007, 09:50:00
Re-read the description.
Grzegorz Aksamit
Sample of page plz.
UserJS don't work on https by default.
By Lex1, # 21. November 2007, 12:34:35
Lex1: https://www.google.com/analytics/home/
.. but it requires an account.
UserJS seems to be working fine on my Opera 9.24 on WinXP, because flashblocker is blocking all flash on this page. Only whitelist .js is not working on it.
By anonymous user, # 21. November 2007, 17:31:20
No. FlashBlocker.js it really FlashUnBlocker.js. He serves only for deblocking of flash on a click.
Looking opera:config#UserPrefs|UserJavaScriptonHTTPS
By Lex1, # 21. November 2007, 23:18:42
ok, that solved this problem. Thanks.
By anonymous user, # 22. November 2007, 13:59:47
Hi, it works just fine but "Flash blocker" doesn't appear in the view->styles menu. Why? (byw I use a Norwegian language file)
By anonymous user, # 27. November 2007, 00:17:04
Hi
A. FlashBlocker change the fonts of titles (h1...h6) E.g. On this site (hebrew) http://news.walla.co.il/?w=//1202430
B. no style in vew style, had to write it at 'my style sheet'
By anonymous user, # 28. November 2007, 22:46:29
I see no differences.
What version of Opera do you use?
By Lex1, # 30. November 2007, 22:05:32
I use 9.24, but I have deactivated FlashBlocker and still had the problem. Finally, I found that it was due to View->style->manage modes->|v| my fonts and colors
I removed the v, and it returned to normal. Nothing to do with FlashBlocker.

I have a bit of problem with google finance page. For example,
http://finance.google.com/finance?client=ig&q=GOOG
I put the page in the whitelist and I can see the chart, but the news flags are missing. When I disable flashblock, they show up again. Anyone have seen this or have any idea why this happens.
Oh, by the way, this program is awesome!! Thanks for making it.
By anonymous user, # 8. December 2007, 17:48:12
Where do I put the FlashBlocker.js file?
Right now, FlashBlocker.css is in my Opera\styles\user folder, but it is not an option in View -> Style. Flash content is blocked, but I cannot click on it to enable the flash to run.
By anonymous user, # 10. December 2007, 18:30:05
No. «Copy FlashBlocker.css to your user styles folder like c:\...\Opera\Opera 9\profile\styles\user (looking path in Help->About Opera)»
http://userjs.org/help/installation
By Lex1, # 10. December 2007, 20:02:43
