I do it...

nizamx 16. December 2008, 14:17

Opera 9.63 conflict: Text link (not clickable links) downloads don't work. Oget gives message can't find the program.

Hi, I'm using Opera 9.63 with FDM thru Oget. Download all and download selection doesn't seem to work. It gives me this error:

Not exist file "C:\Documents"

Any advice/suggestions?

A.Ruzanov 16. December 2008, 18:11

Yes, in Opera again broken transfer of a command line :frown: .

coolmyll 16. December 2008, 21:51

So it cant be fixed? :frown:

Rizki Panji Asmoro 17. December 2008, 04:44

yup... i got the same error message

Not exist file "C:\Documents"

lex... some advice please :D

A.Ruzanov 17. December 2008, 09:29

It's Opera bug. For file names that contain spaces, you need to quote the filenames with double quotes.
Welcome on https://bugs.opera.com/wizard/

nizamx 17. December 2008, 13:15

As a noob user I'm proud to say: Can it be fixed (by your side)?

Anonymous 18. December 2008, 08:14

Anonymous writes:

After upgrading to Opera 9.63, the Ctrl+Click option stopped working. I am getting the same error message mentioned by "nizamx":

OGet Error
Not exist file "C:\Documents"

Opera are not always prompt in fixing the errors (still better than Firefox). Can this be fixed by editing an ini file? If yes, which ini file should be edited to replace the "path" to a format without spaces (may be the old 8.3 format)? and what is the "file path" to be included?

Thanks

z@h3k 18. December 2008, 09:54

Yes we are waiting updated Oget working with 9.63

A.Ruzanov 18. December 2008, 17:47

It's Opera bug. As workaround, set opera:config#UserPrefs|TemporaryDownloadDirectory as c:\internet\opera\temporary_download or similar _without_ spaces in the name.

Anonymous 18. December 2008, 19:09

oget fan writes:

You can also use the same Temporary Download Directory by changing:

C:\Documents and Settings\YourLoginName\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\cache4\temporary_downloads

to this:

C:\Docume~1\YourLoginName\Applic~1\Opera\Opera\profile\cache4\temporary_downloads

(No spaces in the folder names)

A.Ruzanov 18. December 2008, 20:45

Hmm.. Good idea. Thanks.
Btw, utorrent also not work in Opera 9.63 and needed in this workaround.

Anonymous 19. December 2008, 06:59

Anonymous writes:

This is a good workaround. Thank you.

Setting the "Temporary Download Directory" in "User Prefs" to:

C:\Docume~1\USER_NAME\Applic~1\Opera\Opera\profile\cache4\temporary_download\

about:config
Type "temp" in the "Quick find" space/form
paste and replace the "Temporary Download Directory" entry with the above entry (replace "USER_NAME" with yours)

Thanks

Thanks for the WorkAround! It's working all rite.

Anonymous 21. January 2009, 01:00

Anonymous writes:

Omg, why can't they just release a fix for it? If it's something as simple as spacing in the filename, jeez. Well, even though I could fix it, I'm not going to. I guess I'll just have to stick with Opera's built-in dl manager.

When ctrl + left clicking links that are embedded on images sometimes I get the "Save as" dialog. Is there anyway to avoid this?

In other words: Ctrl + left click on image will try to save the image. Can that shortcut be deactivated?

A.Ruzanov 9. February 2009, 15:09

«Ctrl + left click» it's internal Opera hotkey. Afaik, it cannot be disabled.

A.Ruzanov 3. March 2009, 09:05

This bug fixed in Opera 9.64.

abhrapro 13. March 2009, 07:23

just downloaded this.a question:while downloading from rapidshare do i need to just press ctrl or to press and hold?thanks in advance

A.Ruzanov 13. March 2009, 09:57

At first you must to set "Don't catch links"->"Catch links via Ctrl+Click".

or to press and hold

Yes.

It would be great if there was an option to use JDownloader aside with Flashget like it was with Rapget, cause now all links go to JDownloader and I don't want that to happen as I only need JDownloader for rapidshare services. Thanks for all your efforts with making Opera better browser Lex1.

hey lex,

When control + click on a link or right-click and download with oGet download manager, my bitcomet just pops up and nothing seem to happen.

i tried to press several times but it still fails to let me download.

Currently im using Opera 9.64 and bitcomet 1.14. If the problem lies with the version of bitcomet, i can change it.

Thanks! (:

Any hope you will make it for Linux?
Any chance it can be a plugin, and not a Win prog?
There are a lot of Opera users switching to Linux now, and maybe it is not a bad idea.

How can I make it work with jDownloader and a selection of links? When I select a part of a page with links in it and right click and choose "Download Selection with oGet" I only get the first link in Jdownloader's Linkgrabber.

Right clicking on a link and choosing "Download with oGet" works fine.

I'm using Opera 10.

A.Ruzanov 6. October 2009, 10:10

Tested bitcomet and it does not work as with oget and with flashgot in firefox. Strange

jDownloader and a selection of links?

Not supported.

How to use Quote function:

  1. Select some text
