STICKY POST

Bienvenidos

Calvià 971,
a webseries with a Catalan twist, scheduled for winter 2007

Calvià 971 is a series set in the largest Balearic island, Mallorca. The story revolves around three sisters named Susana, Mariposa and Daniella. They all are natives, but don’t exactly fit in the richest area of Spain, Calvià. This multicultural community is located at the southwestern tip of the isle. It is believed to be an area with strange supernatural activity, mainly due to many battles of the past. People who live there all have some kind of obsession, but the three sisters are not (yet) affected by all the strange powers.

Seven Deadly Sins

Next to the ideas mentioned earlier, I am taking my series in an old direction. The new theme is inspired on one of my favourite shows: Charmed (read Wikipedia's entry on Charmed). For the seven episodes of season one I am going to have "the seven deadly sins" as theme. Below they are listed for your convenience:

English - Latin (Charmed character infected in season's 3 episode Sin Francisco)
lust - luxuria (Phoebe Halliwell, played by Alyssa Milano)
gluttony - gula (Piper Halliwell, played by Holly Marie Combs)
greed - avaritia
sloth - acedia (Leo Wyatt-Halliwell, played by Brian Krause)
wrath - ira
envy - invidia
pride - superbia (Prue Halliwel, played by Shannen Doherty; quote: "the one sin you cannot beat")

Preparations

I am busy to make the series Calvià 971 my best work to date. That's why the series is coming this fall (2007) and not earlier. As advised on the EpiGuide forum, I will plan and outline my series first. This is called - in jargon - a series bible.

At this stage, I am keeping this series bible secret, but expect to get some previews at a later date. Please let me know what you think about Calvià 971 so far (see the sticky post) and comment on my blog here at My Opera. A My Opera account is required, but it is easy to create one (and it is free).
