Two New Mobile Answer Services

The popular Librarian in Black blog posted about two new mobile Q & A services. For a quarter you can send your factual questions ( weather forecast, games scores, stock quotes, directory assistance etc) as SMS (text messages) to AskMeNow and get an answer. It is not clear whether AskMeNow subcontracts the services to other company employees or uses machine generated searches.
NowNowalso operates through your mobile phone and promises to send you up to 3 e-mail answers to your SMS question. For now the service is free, but the company owned by Amazon is thinking to impose a similar quarter per question fee. It looks like NowNow provides answers to more sophisticated questions, because they use real people to dig the answers.
AskMeNow and NowNow face serious competition from Google Mobile and Yahoo Mobile who don’t charge a dime for mobile questions and answers.
