Search 12 000 Drugs With A New Drug Information Portal

National Library Of Medicine ( NLM) has released a new Drug Information Portal at http://druginfo.nlm.nih.gov which allows you to search 12 000 drugs simultaneously. The portal includes drugs from the time they are included in clinical trials to the time they enter the market and are searchable by generic or trade name.

"Once a drug is found, a summary of the drugs type and usage is given, as well as links leading to further information at one of the portals resources. Outside links open in a new window. Within a given drug record, you may click on the drug category and retrieve drugs with the same or similar uses"

The list of sources searchable by the new government Drug Information Portal includes the health information portal MedlinePlus, the toxicology database Toxnet, Pubmed, AIDSinfo and ClinicalTrials.gov.
