Don’t miss the introduction video created by the University of Michigan News Service.
The book machine, located in the Shapiro Library lobby on U-M's Central Campus, prints out-of-copyright books from the University's digitized collections. At a cost of about $10 per book, the service is available to researchers, students and the public.
Customers will have access to 2 million out-of-copyright books from the University of Michigan digitized collection (the University cooperated with Google Book Search to digitize the collection). All copies of the books will be printed on the Espresso Book Machine made by a company called On Demand Books, which expects to install similar machines on a shared network in libraries and bookshops worldwide. More details are available from the press release.
