I have just finished reading a book Moondust and was quite intrigued by the premise. Currently there are only 9 of the original 12 men, living that walked on the moon. An interesting read for sure. Unless of course you are among the fringe that believe we never really went to the moon. (play twighlight zone theme here) That was also covered in the book!
The epilogue has the author, Andrew Smith, finally communicating with the highly reclusive, Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon. All of the astronauts were allowed to bring hand picked music they could play while traveling in space and Neil mentions that he took with him Dvorak's "New World Symphony" (not offered here) and another album he recorded to tape, from his own record collection, (don't tell Jazz Trolly) titled, quite perfectly, Music Out Of The Moon.
The author then misconstrues the album in a way that makes me believe he has really never heard it. Andrew over emphasizes the theremin, it's spooky sound and Dr. Samuel Hoffman. He regretably never even mentions, of all people, Les Baxter. While the Therimin was used in many Sci-Fi movies of the day and did at times have that spooky sound, for example, The Day The Earth Stood Still, Soundtrack by Bernhard Herman. However, Music Out Of The Moon is neither spooky nor Sci-Fi. It is classic Les Baxter.
The point of this is to say that after finishing the book, I was out in the backyard looking up at the moon. By mere coincidence I was also wearing my digi-earoscope and listening for communication from life forms on other planets. When wonder of all wonders I heard Music Out Of The Moon playing from deep space. Luckily I had my recording equipment set up and was able to record the very music that Neil Armstrong was playing on his way to the moon 38 years ago.
Ironically I happened to be at the right space in time when this music came back to earth. I hope this is not an infringement of copyright laws. I just recorded the sound that came to me from outer space. Wouldn't that make for an interesting copyright infringement trial. The recording quality is actually very good and I believe this is due to the aluminum foil hat I was wearing at the time I captured the sounds coming from deep space!

I just downloaded and listened and it sounds great. I had requested this at Xtaby, because of the missing song, so thanks.
