101 Strings - Astro Sounds

Space Odyssey

This was a request that I was actually able to fill.

Imagine Granny loves the easy sounds of 101 Strings and she puts this one on the old record player and out of her speakers comes Astro Sounds! Must have freaked her out.

This is a pretty cool pffering... I'm certain the CD is out of print, because the label went belly-up, I think.

Nice...but am wondering if the production was a bit off in the studio? Some of the instruments were a bit low level and hard to hear. Otherwise never heard an easy listening group use the old "Itchykoo Park Memorial Sound Chamber" (flanging) effect before. As Arte Johnson would say (mit a German accent) "Verrrrrry Interesting!"

RW: Must be the "Astro Sound" they were trying to achieve. Or maybe the original ripper hit the declicker to heavy.

At any rate it will be good to get my turntable back in operation and start ripping my own again.

What were they thinking??? Apparently someone passed some v-e-e-ery early Pink Floyd/Ravi Shankar/Jefferson Airplane albums around, and 101 Strings jumped on the magic bus! Hopefully they found that easy-listening, scotch-sipping, mushroom-tripping, acid-dropping, crowd that this will appeal to!!! (And what is up with the songs "Whiplash" and “Instant Nirvana”?????) I am so there!!!!

The sound quality out of my surround-sound system is excellent! What a clean rip this is! Thank you for sharing the music! This is amazing!

Glad you like it. Did it sound that good on it's own or did you enhance your mind to acheive this quality? Ha ha! LP
