Anyway - My Weekend, other than the obvious, was brilliant! On Saturday, my bf and I decided we would go the the 'West End' (London Town) to go shopping. But London being London, we jumped on a bus (A Routemaster! YAY!) and we were kicked off early, so as we were walking towards Covent Garden, we stumbled across a place called Somerset house (left). Well... This looked fantastic and it was so busy in the court yard, we had to check it out We went to the information hall, and it turned out that it housed 3 exhibitions. We paid to see two of them - The Byzantium Collection (Which was fantastic) and the Impressionist Paintings.
The second one (Impressionist Paintings) were amazing They had Monet, Manet, Van Gogh, Cezane - the list goes on!My personal favourite was Tiepolo. His stuff really appealed to me. I loved the way he captured the expressions on the faces of his characters. And I find that so many artist attempt to paint the happenings of Christ, but he has found a beautiful way of appealing to such a wide audience. To see some of his work, please visit this link. Another artist I enjoyed was Wassily Kandinsky.
Anyhow, after Somerset House, we did eventually go shopping. I managed to buy load of things for just £60. 3 tops for work and 2 casual! I was happy as Larry! Hee hee! In the evening, my bf, his brother and I all went for a curry which was really nice! We had a really nice time, drinking, laughing, EATING! lol!
On Sunday, my bf and I met up with another couple that we know. They have a 14 month old daughter and they were showing us pics. She has the most amazing eyes. They didn't have her with them as they had the weekend off. Much deserved I think! It's nice to maintain some time to yourselves when you have a baby, as I find that people can tend to drift apart at times because of the tiredness and the frustration a baby can cause. But essentially, having a baby with someone is always going to be a life changing experience and a wonderful one at that! Funny thing is, I can't see myself ever getting married or having kids But I guess that's just how it feels when you are young... until it happens!
Anyway - Time to work!
