For anyone who thinks Linux gurus are snobs!

Sometimes people I know don't want to ask for help from a Linux guru because they feel they are being talked down to or made to feel bad for not being more knowledgeable. I have no problem whatsoever admitting I am a seriously new newb...I have had Linux now since March..not long..but I can definitely say that not all advanced Linux users are like that..at all!! In fact..I did a review on Linux Mint 5..and Clem himself wrote a review..on my review!! He also commented nicely on my blog as well! So don't be afraid to ask a guru for help..I know the folks at Linux Mint are especially helpful!

they, if they exist according to your definition, just have more experience, and often know how to search for the data.

Good point! After googling the phrase "linux guru" two of the top choices were:
(a) http://www.fogcreek.com/jobs/linuxguru.html
(b) http://www.cs.usfca.edu/~parrt/course/601/lectures/unix.util.html
Well, choice (b) is about a unix guru, but we'll accept this for the time being. According to (a), it's not jst a matter of experience and knowledge, simply. It's something much more.

Maybe I am wrong cause I don't ask anybody for help. Once at start, when I receive answers, I realize that I can't recept it at all, cause I am too stupid to act according it. So, I have stopped to ask anything almost 4 years.
Shut your mouth = RTFM? - still hate to read in CLI /not to use it/, but I like to explore web for answers-options and to resolve probs.
I am so happy when all finished successfully.
God help me not to mess whole OS...I've learned a lot, all for free...
Sometimes think to take lessons, but always quit...It is so slow, complicated and boring...
The most helpful 4 me is Google and forums search. Long live GNU/Linux community!
When I was met real leggend - RMS, I could only stare at him, with respect, admired...and collect his kind words he wrote me on some linux note: Happy hacking, Mira /It always cheer me up when I remember.../
It is more interesting /and cheeper/ to learn online messing arround...Maybe some day I overcome newbie position...maybe some day I could dare to talk with some BSD/Unix/GNU/Linux guru...if I live long enough... ;-)
