Linux did come very far lately especially Ubuntu and other fan clubs too like Fedora, Mint and many others. Ubuntu now use the general consumers, Fedora is for building things and for hardcore users of open source. I'm not too happy about invasion of Mono project from Microsoft to open source and they are using Novell OpenSuse distro for spreading, if don't believe last part than open Synaptic and type Microsoft. LINK
Ubuntu 64-bit runs very well, better than i expected at first and Ubuntu Tweak is the best loader than can be. Font's are still a problem and compensating with Windows fonts for the best web browsing experience is that the right way to go or is it the only way to go? LINK LINK

Fedora is getting better and better for the not-uber-geek to use and is actually almost better! For example, Fedora includes OpenFWWF, which means my Broadcom wireless card is recognized and usable out-of-the-box and without including proprietary drivers! Plus with 13, Fedora now includes 3D support for ATI and Nvidia video cards without resorting to proprietary drivers.
I have no problem with Mono. The competition is good for all parties.
