What a differnce a few months make.

After battling the cold down the river it got me thinking of the same walk i do time and time again changes dramatically over the year the two pics below show the river penk in winter a summer.

these to pics are at the same spot and it shows how much it differs! This has given me a idea for a project smile

A frosty penkridge walk

I took my grandads dog out in the week down the penkridge canal. Its the only time i have had to get a walk in due to crazy hours at work and xmas shoping! As you can see off the quick snap bove the canal had complety iced over.

The goldfinches and greenfinches were out not great pics but always good to see!

A frosty walk with fieldfares and a waxwing 2 top it off!

Me and Aimee went over brockton last week 2 take advantage off the last of the snow and frost it was the type of day photographers dream of! Blue sky bright frost and full of things to photo! There was a group of birders chasing down a fieldfare to photo witch im not a fan of as i like the bird to be left to eat with out fear of humans. Having said that when your walking past a bush and you see a bird close that dosnt seem to mind you its fare game!

i thought things could not get any better then...........

Norfolk with Shaun and Carl

A 5am start to get to norfolk for 7.30am in time for breakfast and a walk over titchwell. Carl was optimistic about the weather but seeing as tho we arived in a blizzard i didnt share his confidence! He must have prayed for sun as after our tesco big breakfast the sun was out and he avoided me and shaun moaning the whole way home! I think we arived a little late in the year to see the huge flocks of waders but saw lots of geese a periguine and the odd flock of waders so i cant grumble! The pic below is of one of the dunlins that i tried to sneak up on. Unfortunatle the light was not great so its not the sharpest pic.

The geese all went up at once a tell tale sign of.......
The hawk never took anything when i was there but watching it hunt reminds me of seeing a periguine take a pigeon last year!

Here are a couple of my favourites of that day (poor pigeon!)

Mandarin and passing shell duck

I went out with Aimee last week to see what we could see. Iv only just found time to put the pics up!! if there is a better looking bird than the mandarin i am yet to see it!

As i was taking pics of the mandarin a few shell ducks flew over

Gaylie resvoire

A day out over gaylie to practice my panarams today with my cousin Sam. It was a nice day cold but bright. the picture above is the best panaroma of the day. There was not to much in the way of wildlife there was a Goldeneye way in the distance a few Coots and Herons but thats about it.
A more romantic bird than the majority!
These two were not taken today but i like them smile

A morning over brockton

I went for a early morning walk over Brockton today with my uncles Shaun and Ian to try some panaroma shots. The pic above was my first attempt. Shaun looking unimpressed with me catching him slipping down a dith smile
Shaun and Ian putting the world to rite!! The pic below is off a green woodpeker sillhouetted
