Yes, people, this post will be about the intimate details of how I lost my virginity.
...
No, it sure as hell will not! How sick are you? Jeeeeze. Also, have you no grip on reality? Me, lose my virginity? Please. I crap better sci-fi than that.
No, this post will be about "X-men 3: The Last Stand" which I've just seen. (Yay me!) It will have two parts. The first part will be spoiler-free, for the poor, sordid saps who haven't seen it yet, and the second will be for those of you who are part of my for the time being semi-exclusive club of Having Seen It.
Those of you who have read this far in the faint hope that some intriguing or sexually loaded content will eventually present itself despite all of my assurances, I'm sorry to disappoint you. Lucikly, seeing as you didn't believe me the first time, you surely won't believe me now, and will read this entire thing to the end, despite probably not giving the slightest fig about the X-men. Mwhahaha. Shows you for being perverts.
SPOILER-FREE-PART.
I'm satisfied. I had enormous expectations for this, so that probably means I'd go "WOW! Brilliance!" on any other movie, but I didn't. Not until the last scene. The last scene alone was worth the ticket. DAMN, did that scene give me goosebumps.
All in all, though, it was good entertainment, better than the first, not quite on par with the second. The main reason for this, I think, was its trying to balance two huge plots while both the first movies had only one central plot each, plus its having a bigger ensemble of characters, giving less time for those brilliant character-moments X2 was so stuffed with.
That's not to say either plot was bad, just that I felt they could have given them more time, while at the same time feeling they got too much time, taking time away from the characters. In short, this movie needed to either cut one of the plots, or be one hour longer. As it is, I think it, unlike X2, is mostly for the fans of the previous movies and/or the comics, because I suspect too much is happening in every scene for anybody else to get more out of it than lots of cheesy superbeings kicking each others asses in cool actions scenes. Still, I loved it. And Kelsey Grammar was wonderful as the Beast. 8,5/10, I think. (I gave X1 7,5/10 and X2 9/10)
SPOILER-STUFFED-PART.
All three character-deaths came as surprises for me, but most of all Xavier's. Really didn't see that coming, and though I'm still rooting for a fourth (pleasepleasepleasplease) I'm having trouble envisioning it without Xavier in it.
Despite too few character-moments, it had some beautiful moments of Mystiques personality, as well as new insights to Xavier. Magneto was as always splendid. I felt Jean just about wasn't in the movie at all, the way she just stood in the back apart from her three scenes of dialogue where she for the most part was Phoeneix anyway, but that's okay, she's never been among my favourite characters. Storm really shone in this one. Wolverine could have been even more gritty and dark, I think, but I guess that'd be too large a leap from his personality in X2. All in all, good use of the characters, and I adored Juggernaught, he was just perfect. I hate them for humanifying Mystique, though... but I guess, with the last scene and all, maybe both she and Rogue will return with a vengeance in a fourth one.
For those of you who are still longing for that piece of adult-related action,
fine, but I won't stray from topic. I'll give you this, though: Mystique is naked throughout the entire movie! SHOCKER.
Dixi. For now.
Edit:
DAMMIT. THE ONE TIME I DON'T SIT THROUGH THE CREDITS IN THE HOPE OF A SCENE AFTER IT'S ROLLED THROUGH THERE IS A SCENE THERE. Oh, well, I was going to go re-watch it some day shortly anyway.
