8pen for Android OS

I use 8pen Android keyboard every day because it is free, and because the movements for selecting characters with it resemble those of handwriting. Mainly it is figure 8 shapes that I make with 8pen keyboard. When I am focused, I write with it quickly and accurately on my smartphone.

The 8pen keyboard is made for small screens where the qwerty keypad would seem out of place. Also, the accuracy of 8pen comes from doing full figure 8 movements that join one character to the next by linking at its center. Since 8pen has the Roman alphabet characters that a qwerty keyboard has, I may get an incorrect character with 8pen. Saving me keystrokes, the additional predictive text suggestions of Android OS let me know me when I made an error.

After using 8pen for six months, I know the placement of most of the characters. Now I don’t want to use any other keyboard on my Android smartphone.

The qwerty keyboard seems antiquated and illogical next to that of 8pen. The qwerty keyboard was made for typewriters, and obviously a phone is not a typewriter. 3qubits co. designed 8pen for small screens.
