Ultra Light Computer to Pen and Paper

, , , , , , , , ,

I had to have a netbook before they were known by that term. So I coerced my dad to give $1300 for me to get an ultra light computer. The ultra light motivated my roommate with whom I shared the machine to write popular emails before the blog phenomenon that has me putting my thoughts out willy nilly on the Internet, adding to its cacophony. We traveled all over the world with the ultra light, writing and touring in a relaxed way.

Then XP updates killed my ultra light machine that had only, maybe, 17 Gb of hard drive space. Goodbye ultra light machine.
So I overpaid for a new netbook that has the eminently workable Win 7 OS. I upgraded the R.A.M. in it to
2 Gb. For about a third of the cost of my old, ultra light, my newer netbook functions great though it isn't encased in magnesium as was the older one. Maybe the new netbook functions too well. My roommate recently appropriated the netbook and uses it exclusively for accessing Wikipedia at home. He gets whiny if the netbook goes out on the road with me.
Today I sat in the library for an hour and laid down some lines on basic paper with a trusty, fountain pen. I felt struck by the effectiveness and efficiency of this solution to my quest for a reliable writing system. I shall wait for a Chromebook to come down in price, and in the meantime, I feel perfectly happy to lay down my private thoughts in the time tested manner of Proust et al. It is better for me not to add to the effluvia on the Internet I'm sure. The inky process is the best thing for me.
