Is Religion Necessary for Good Government?

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.” —John Adams[/COLOR]

Hello, my friends! As my readers in the United States know, the election on November 2, next week, will be a critical one for the direction America takes for the next several years. As a Christian, I believe it is crucial for a nation to honor the God revealed in the Bible, Yahweh, the true and living God. Thus I believe that Christians, wherever they live, need to do all they can to influence their nations for good, both in their personal lives and in how they vote.

Sometimes, given the rapid change in American society, it is difficult for Christians to know how to decide about candidates and issues. Things that once seemed right now seem wrong, and vice versa. But God and his Word do not change, and the Bible provides timeless principles that will help us know which direction we should take and give us wisdom in making decisions concerning political issues.

This week my wife and I received an exciting offer in our email in-box from Focus Press, a Christian publisher in Tennessee. We are subscribers to their Christian family magazine, think. We learned that not only is think doing a special November issue about religion and government, but the publisher is also providing a free PDF file of the November issue which they are allowing subscribers to share with others.

I am thrilled to be able to share this with you and your family, and I urge you to download it and read it, and share it with others. Hopefully you will read this in time to download it before November 2 if you are an American voter. Whether that applies to you or not, it is a valuable resource for you and your family that will be of use long after November 2. I invite you to take advantage of this and download the PDF from this link: November Issue-think magazine

Downloading this does not obligate you in any way. It is a gift from me to you, courtesy of our Christian friends at Focus Press. I also invite you to visit their website, Focus Press where you will find many resources to help you and your family in your efforts to be spriritual, including think magazine.

May God bless you, and may God bless America!
