Welcome!

Welcome to Dewayne's Devarim! Devarim (pronounced duh-vahr-EEM, with the stress on the last syllable) is the Hebrew for "words", and also is the Hebrew name for the biblical book of Deuteronomy. This is a Bible blog, offered from a conservative Christian viewpoint—one that takes seriously the Bible's claim to be God's authoritative, infallible guide to life, and takes seriously Jesus' claims to be the Son of God and Savior of the world.
As I have a variety of interests and concerns, topics will vary. Christians will find here material to fortify their faith and to help them share Christ with others, and to refute skeptics' and liberals' attacks. Non-Christians will find material that will offer reasons why they should investigate, and ultimately accept, the claims of Jesus and the Bible to be true. The person who wants to find genuine Christianity among the various competing religious groups of today will learn how to find people who are seeking to be just Christians, nothing more, nothing less. This site will present material which I hope will be of interest and value to other Bible scholars, but also of interest and value to the non-scholar. While I may sometimes deal with controversial topics, I will always seek to "speak the truth in love" (Ephesians 4:15) as I do so.
Besides my writing on Bible topics, I'll also give reviews and recommendations of Bible software that I use. Also, I'll put some useful website links you can explore for additional resources. Check the Links tab for these.
I am making the blog available for public comment, so I invite you to read and comment on it. However, if you do post a comment, please be courteous; and if you disagree with my views, then deal in ideas, not personal attacks! Keep it clean, also: no profanity/vulgar language.
At present, I plan to post 2-3 times a month, more or less. To learn more about me, click on the "About" tab at the top of the page.
Looking forward to sharing God's riches with you,
Dewayne
