I am an old time Opera user and fan. I started using it many years ago, from it's very very beginning. In these last years I followed it growing but my attention was mostly taken by Mozilla and the surroundings, so I have got another blog that so far has been the main place for my ramblings. Take a look at it if you like.

Sono un vecchio utente di Opera. Ho cominciato ad usarlo molti anni fa, fino dai suoi inizi. In questi ultimi anni ho continuato a seguirne i progressi ma la mia attenzione è stata presa sopratutto da Mozilla e dintorni, cosi ho un altro blog che fino ad ora è stato il principale luogo delle mie divagazioni. Hey, I was using Opera for a long time, but one day I tried out Mozilla Firefox and... I became convinced of it! Using Firefox there's no problem with displaying videos and other stuffs, so I just recommend it smile

Well, it depends. Technically they are both good software with different pros and cons. Most if not all the problems you get on Websites using Opera are due either to bad site development or marketing tactics, see Google services for instance. Since I belive in a free (like freedom) Web, I think more alternatives there are for the users and better it is. So now that Firefox won a big market share and it isn't the underdog any more, I guess it is time to get back to Opera. smile

Get back to Opera? Hmm I don't know, have to consider it, but I got used to my Firefox. And I will probably still use it smile

As a simple user you probably can stay with the software you feel comfortable with, expecially if it is a very good software like Firefox. But I want to contribute my little piece of the Internet and so when I say get back to Opera it means to develop things that work fine with Opera and if possibile contribute to the "ecosystem" around it. For a browser the first thing to do is to attract tech people and developers, those can make the others able to switch if they like to do so. Opera needs to become the browser of choice for geeks first, for "cool" people later. IMO, of course.
