What puzzles me is somebody did take Twitter seriously, like it was a media revolution instead of a variation of the old instant messengers. Oh but the newspapers will disappear because now the news are on Twitter.

I have heard a story where an airline customer never told anyone but posted an angry comment about flight service and they contacted him to make him happy.
As far as manipulation of women, you are right ...this seems to happen in every realm though

But see, another point is most people are like women, they like to be told lies.

About women, I don't know but it seems they are complicated. In my experience while men are focused on basic tasks, women are always paying attention to details, usually about emotions, behaviors, relations with other people, etc, that from the male point of view are unimportant or often "imaginary". For males all those "details" are a problem when the goal is to go from point A to point B but it can also be lot of stuff you can use for manipulating. But on average it is too much work because there are few (temporary) reasons why you would need to manipulate.

that's always been my thoughts at least. maybe twitter has more females getting into it because we tend to like the details

rich user experience is probably because us humans like to take something simple and make it complicated

"I see sentiment analysis becoming a standard feature of search engines".

Maybe gay search engines

gay search engines?
It's funny how this article is basically also saying "we realized we can't screw people either because they can just go online and complain with each other"

1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
(Asimov, around 1940)
What is "sentiment analysis"? Sounds like that horrible (gay?) android Data in Star Trek - The Next Generation. Basically a soap opera. There was also the emphatic counsellor Troy on the bridge. Worst Star Trek series ever.

Those are good robot laws but as humans make them and humans are flawed, so will the robots be flawed as well
