Happy birthday Martina

Martina wakes in her bed, what is happening? We are at grandparents house for her birthday party!
Martina sits at the table and eats pasta with her hands
(after having her regular soup).
With only 4 or 5 teeth they must be little pieces.
The serious look is because she is watching her cousin
across the table.

Martina has not decided yet if the little bowl is for drinking
or for playing to spit water on herself and all around.
Martina standing on her own while playing with toys.
She does not walk alone yet, she wants you to hold her hand.
Martina with her cousin Davide.
At some point the poor little boy made an impressive fall
on his face while while grabbing a gift. Fortunately kids are resistant.
It would have killed me.

There is an incredible industry of (expensive) toys for little kids but it seems they mostly fail, in fact you give the toy to the little kid and he throws it away to play with the empty box. To me it sounds like a waste of money and those toys are also dangerous. For example the little kid was given a big "ray gun" which lost a little screw as soon as we took it out of the box. Nothing like little sharp metal pieces to hurt a little kid.

On a side note, Martina tried to chew the candle on top of the cake. She is very good in recognizing food from other stuff but I guess she thought whatever is on top of a cake is good to eat. Hey I think I thought the same till high school

   btw.. you know we used to chew candles in childhood instead of chewing gum that we couldn't buy in Russia!

Not a good idea considering modern candles are usually made of paraffin.

I think it would be better for Martina to look more like mom when she is grown up instead of being like my brother with long hair, which would be pretty scaring.

 That`s right for sure!
