Mormons

They even came to my high school to speak about their mission and religion.
If you want more details take a look here:

They were fun to see, like screaming "american" from far away. And even more fun to talk to, being so polite but also completely insane in their faith. Then they disappeared for a while, who knows why.
This morning as I was coming back from the doctor I met two of them as they walked in the opposite direction chatting in english, probably american even if I couldn't tell the accent. It was a sort of flashback.
On a side note, I think being missionary in Italy must be better than many other places in this world,
but selling religion here must be like selling ice in the North Pole.

These missionaries are most annoying here in the states ... I haven't shot any yet, but I'm not dead yet, either.
The sheer effrontery of people who (effectively) say to you, "Your religion is no good; mine is better," makes me very angry. Who the hell are they to tell me that? AAAARRRGH!
Besides, if I'm going to Hell, it's my business, not theirs. (At least I'd be with people I find interesting!)

There are the Jehovah's Witnesses who patrol the streets in pairs and stop you with strange questions like "do you think the world peace is possible?" or "do you know of the end of the world?". But you just answer "sorry I am not interested, good day" and that's all.
I don't know what the Mormons do nowadays, like I said above they slipped under my radar many years ago.
BTW, Italy is the backyard of the Vatican so I guess other religions must fly low to avoid the Inquisition.
No, seriously, it is like most Italians are sort of vaccinated against religion fanatics, there is a sort of relaxed respect, more for the tradition than for the theology.
@der Wandersmann:
Of course you are wrong. Since Jesus picked the disciples and gave them the mission of spreading the Word, it became a matter of converting people to the REAL faith. Some do conversions as job, some as hobby.
