Blogging since the First Age

What I have been doing lately

Since monday I had Martina (my niece) in the house. In theory it should be my mom to babysit her but in reality it is me babysitting Martina and my mom. Besides my mom not being able to properly close modern diapers or to prepare baby food, I can't leave she and Martina alone for 15 minutes because for some reasons the baby cries. So I had to spend most of the morning and the first afternoon downstairs and strolling Martina around the city, which by the way is the worst city ever for children due the absolute lack of suitable places like sidewalks and the incredible traffic, noise and pollutions.

Yesterday 23 April was my birthday.
Not a big deal since nobody seemed to care, besides very few (thank you Barbara for the wishes). Lets say it was a good birthday because nothing happened. Oh yes, besides Martina crying a little because I was washing her little butt with cold water (no warm water in the house at that time). I am hoping my mom will leave this weekend for her hometown in Tuscany so I will be in peace for a while.

Lorenzo Celsi 24. April 2009, 14:07

I like basic cakes/traditional that aren't too sweet.

Hermitess 24. April 2009, 14:29

Oh so you won't be wanting extra thick buttercream icing like I had. :chef: *drool drool*

How bout I scrape the icing off & you eat the cake?

Yes?
No?

Well let me know if that sounds good.

Lorenzo Celsi 24. April 2009, 14:37

Like I said, my favorite cakes don't have any buttercream icing. They are made with nuts and/or fruits, you know those middle age stuff. I am old school.

ღೋSarahೋღ 24. April 2009, 14:44

What a doll. Cold water is not fun...like Olgita said, you can boil the water and mix with cool to be comfortable.

Happy late birthday. :hat:

Unfortunately I had to take care of a pooped baby with some speed and I wasn't much prepared. She is the first and only baby I have never had to take care of and my mom seemed to not know what to do, so, left alone facing the poop on my own resources, I did like marines, I improvised, adapted and completed the mission.

Hermitess 24. April 2009, 14:54

Good work man!

Fine, don't share your icing with me.

ღೋSarahೋღ 24. April 2009, 15:01

Well then we will forgive you this one time.p:
I agree Hermitess, buttercream frosting is very sweet. I have a feeling a carrot cake without icing would suffice.

Lorenzo Celsi 24. April 2009, 15:02

What icing? I said I would not have any icing on the cake if I can chose.

ღೋSarahೋღ 24. April 2009, 15:09

carrot cake without icing :hat:

Lorenzo Celsi 24. April 2009, 15:34

Simple cake made with apples:

Traditional cake named "bisciola valtellinese" (Valtellina is a valley in the mountains not far from here).

Olga 24. April 2009, 18:26

I love that apple cake!!!!!:chef:

Hermitess 24. April 2009, 19:21

Homer: Doh! no icing

Apple cake is really good though!

ღೋSarahೋღ 25. April 2009, 01:36

Ivan 25. April 2009, 10:35

starree 25. April 2009, 15:51

starree 25. April 2009, 15:53

maybe you should go party this weekend Lorenzo, to get away from poopy babies and blah birthdays

Lorenzo Celsi 25. April 2009, 16:16

I should go where?

starree 25. April 2009, 16:17

hm, to a park maybe? do you have any of those? :left: or do you have any crazy clubs or something? p:

Lorenzo Celsi 25. April 2009, 16:22

You know, there is a reason why people get drunk or takes drugs when they go to "crazy clubs"...

starree 25. April 2009, 16:28

it was just a joke, ok so you could have a bubble bath then? or um whatever relaxes men these days p:

Lorenzo Celsi 25. April 2009, 16:34

I am even too relaxed. You can get stressed by too relaxing.

Olga 25. April 2009, 16:35

starre, I think Lorenzo likes silent evenings!

starree 25. April 2009, 16:54

it appears so

starree 27. April 2009, 00:02

oh, by the way that's why I made the joke about partying because it seems the opposite of what you'd do, Lorenzo. I was trying to be silly Homer: Doh!

kirsten 29. April 2009, 18:48

Happy birthday Lorenzo! :hat: :drunk: (just a little bit late )

K C N Martínez 15. May 2009, 16:37
