I am 47 years old, mother of four boys, and have a great and understanding husband and was diagnosed with Lupus in 2000, and Fybromyalgia in 2010. I had Endemetriosis in 2007, and I am a Chronic Asthmatic since birth. Despite all this, I try to see the lighter side of life, and bring humor to all those around me.

What is fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia is a name given to a group of symptoms marked by generalised pain and muscle stiffness. These symptoms can be felt in all different areas of the body. Extreme fatigue (tiredness) and sleep problems are also common in fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia does not cause inflammation or damage to the painful areas, but seems to be due to an over active pain system. Fibromyalgia is different to polymyalgia rheumatica, a type of arthritis in which symptoms are felt more in the muscles.
Well today as i climbed out of bed, I decided to write down all my aches and pains in this Blog. The first thing I notice when I wake up is my elbows hurt to stretch out my arms, and my right knee does not want to behave. My ankles are sore, stiff, as are my shoulders and back. I have a headache which is worse on movement, and my skin stings on the lightest touch.
Medication is a blessing for me, for without it, I couldn't get out of bed. I have had better days, but it's summer, wet, and this seems to make things worse. I noticed a new pain today, my back hurts more around the middle as if I have strained something. This makes walking a bit of a bother.
