Maestro, Preston Love, chose as producer his long time friend Johnny Otis, Who in turn brought along his teen-age son Shuggie who, in spite of being only 14 years old at the time this album was recorded, burns through with a deep blues-oriented feeling and an artistic maturity that is startling. In typical fashion, Shuggie performs as catalyst on guitar and electric Bass, Otis,Sr. is heard on piano and vibe and tenor sax man, Clifford Solomon cooks up a storm as he and Shuggie romp through this record exploring and savoring the joys of the blues.
